Title: oscar's jacket
Post by: bones129 on December 23, 2012, 12:32:44 AM
I've watched oscar closely on the sidelines. Besides the fact he likes folding his arms, it looks like he never unbuttons his jacket...whether he's wearing a suit or a blazer. What is the psychological read on that? I unbutton my jackets a lot, and so do most people I know.

That timeout where he was yelling and slapping players on the butt had to be hilarious for them, it was for me.

He seems to slap players on the butt a lot.

I like his suits, also. But his failure to unbutton them seems too elite. Maybe, over time, he will earn the right to keep them buttoned.

Fashion king Currie will let him know if this is appropriate.  I mean, how many times did he have to straighten Frank's tie??

Maybe its a defense mechanism.  He doesnt fell secure right now so he needs his security coat buttoned up all nice and tight.  Guys lets try and make him feel welcomed, and make him let his guard down.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't.  And not like Huggins' super dark "is it purple or is it black" shade either (which was also awesome).

Yep.

He got one of the Florida players at the end of the handshake line too.  You can see it in DJDT's video if somebody sends it to you in an email.

oscar looks like a maniac on the sidelines.   I mean, a real nutcase on the verge of going postal.    Very disconcerting that he represents the U that way.

Body Language 101.  Crossed arms and buttoned jacket both suggest that oscar feels the need to put something between himself and the people around him.  He might feel threatened, and he ain't buying whatever's being sold.  Sage advice might include attempting to hand him something to hold...perhaps a pen or an olive branch...to get him to uncross his arms and feel comfortable in the more open, friendly position.

Will attend the games Saturday and Monday and watch oscar closely. My bet is the jacket remains buttoned. If I were him, I'd consider throwing that jacket down in the conference season. That could move him closer to increased acceptance...especially if he also loosens his tie.

Let your hair hang down, oscar.
