“It turned into a blood lust,” he said. “We saw a mob mentality.”

Good lord.
True story. When Pete and I were in a frat, we had a chicken crap party where I rescued a soon to be food chicken from a local farm. I kept him in luxury while we divided off our tennis court in numbered squares which we all bought for charity. I released the bird onto the court and he chose a square to defecate on. The person with that square split the money with a local charity. After the bird was done, he was allowed freedom and chose to live in the meadow behind our house. He woke us for class each morning with his majestic "male genitals-a-doodle doo" and we in turn kept him from predators and provided him food. He lived until I graduated, he may still be roaming those fields. It was a beautiful friendship.

You should make a movie about that.

It's in pre-production. Hollywood will not let me have creative control. They think the story is better if Pete is a vampire and the chicken is played by Tom Hanks.
-
I am picturing it something like the movie Ted, but instead of a teddy bear its a chicken.
-
i'm surprised this happened.

Stunz? Beemz?

Frats are odd man.

future serial killers. Sick.

It could be like that movie about the reunion with that lion. What a glorious scene that would be. Also, we need to figure out what song would play during the scene. I'm thinking Peter Cetera, Glory of Love.

What kind of a person gets amusement out of something like that?

Limestone and my chicken was a symbol of everything good about inter-fraternal fellowship.
I do not know how things were able to regress to the point we are at now.
Is there something fundamentally corrupt or twisted about the Beta Theta Pi fraternity? I'd like to pretend that isn't the case. But, if you had ever seen the blood lust in Bernie Haney's eyes (world's most famous Beta) when he was bowling strike after strike, just destroying pins in the union, you may have glimpsed the essence of what that turkey saw that fateful night in Lawrence.
I don't have all the answers, but me, I'm going to hug my poultry a little bit tighter tonight.

Your chicken? LS rescued him. If anything, it's his chicken.
-
Is this going to turn into the Beta trashing thread? Cuz wow, I could go all day here.

No one "owns" the Free Chicken of Sigma Nu Hill. WE just give him our love, and it is returned.

This. We never even gave him a "pet" name. He was an autonomous bird and chose to live with us.

I'd love to see the reunion scene of LSOC and Freebird. Circleing eachother in an open field looking each other up and down, not quite sure the person in front of them is really their bff from younger years. It might even turn into a flex-fest one trying to out do the other. I can see it... it's glorious.

I'm sure that chicken was eaten by a pack of wild dingos a long long time ago.
