i love sams. but waters gives us more options throwing. waters is pretty mobile to. i say start waters and use life sparingly as a change of pace wildcat or some crap.

Competition is good. I like that we have 2 really good options at QB. Sams should have an advantage because he knows the system. Will be fun to watch.

Waters will win the QB position before the season, Sams moved to WR or somewhere else where we can use his speed

Then either Waters is a complete BAMF (Klein)

OR

Sams takes over at QB before conference play and is a complete BAMF (Ell)

I guess they could also both suck but whatevs

Great for depth at the very least.

Post by: Katpappy on December 13, 2012, 06:06:50 PM
By completing 73 percent of those passes, Waters broke the juco record held by some guy named Cam Newton. Even Alabama and Texas showed up late on the recruiting trail to inquire about his services.

Wow, ESPN giving the man some praise.  This guy could take us to the MNC!  I was pro #Life for next season, but damm, how can anyone justify this guy siting on the bench.

Also, just wondering, how broken up Catzacker must be after this get.  Looks like winning a CCG and BCS bowl has some influence on these young men.

I think the argument for Waters is simple.  BOB coaches Tom Brady and knows how to get a kid ready for the NFL.  When you listen to a PSU game, it sounds just like a New England Patriot game. KState wins college football games and will play in a bowl but KState QB's go on to play WR in the NFL.

This young man reminds me of Klein.  Seems to be very grateful to be where he is at this point in life, and very respectful of his coaches with all the praise he gives them.
Also, it didn't hurt that Collin called him and talked to him about coming to K-State.

How's waters compare to how bill whittemore looked out of juco?
Is he the kid who played QB position for Fort Scott JC and that made a fatal career decision to play for KU and coach Fatman. :dunno:

Just googled him:
After college, Whittemore spent time in the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets but never appeared in a regular season game. He also was with the Nashville Kats of the Arena League.
Bill Whittemore, a former Mr. Football in Tennessee, has been named the head football coach at Franklin Road Academy, the school announced Tuesday 02/28/12.

I'm team #life, and this is probably completely false, but something like this is why we need at least 2 QBs:

If we go with Waters at QB and somehow #Life is moved to WR, we could potentially have TLBL and #Life waiting to return kicks and punts.  This could potentially keep our offense off the field every minute of every game

Only if we are facing a kicker who's too shitty to kick the ball out the back of the endzone.

And risk having their defense torched by Waters, #Life, TLBL and crew.. It's like choosing between different death penalties.  You always lose

If there's one thing I know, it's that QB controversy ALWAYS helps teams.  Look at the NY Jets this year.  Stud Tebow and his Jesus mojo showed up and since then Sanchez has been owning it.  Look out, AFC East!

Probably not since I talk to them about every day you rube, but that is also why I said take it for what it is worth. But yes, Sams will probably still be the backup QB and run pretty much what Pease ran, with a much better arm. I think alot of this still depends on Nick Marshall

Too tall to light, he would be moved to WR or DB.  If he can hit he would be a NFL safety

It doesn't matter because there isn't a chance in hell that it's true. LHC Bill Snyder would never ruin QB competition by switching the only other possible starter to a RB. It is completely absurd and quite frankly stupid as hell.
