Title: Favorite non-starter Cat (think ST players)
Post by: Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) on December 10, 2012, 08:26:58 PM
Mine is Jonathan Truman.  Dude wad absolutely relentless, fearless and harass on special teams.  I kinds think he could be a good LB next season.

Runners up: Stanton Weber (like his name) and that walkon from Derby who was good on ST

I think Heibert is the aforementioned walkon from Derby

Burns is a good one, too.

We all would put Sams #1, obviously. So for #2 I'd say Burns. Dude ran a 46.5 second 400m.

He was the 4th runner in a 4x400. They were behind by a good portion when he started. His lap was timed at 46.5, and they ended up winning because of it. Nearly passed out, threw up, etc. as soon as he crossed the finish line.

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=rqauXVEYoIk. Here is the video. We thought it was a sub 48 and not a 46.5 Sorry Jake to correct but this was insane to watch in person. Not only the fastest kid I know but a great guy overall.

Since Truman was already taken, I'm going with Roman Fields.  He was on Truman's hip on kickoff coverage the 2nd half of the season.  If Truman didn't make the tackle, he slowed the guy down and Fields cleaned it up.

His lil bro is fast as hell, too.  Will be interesting to watch his career unfold, he was all metro as a sophomore this year.

Libel was such a stud.  I also liked one of the backup cbs from that era, some fairly short blonde kid from Iowa...  Can't think of his name.

*edit-  Jake Havick.  Blocked a bunch of kicks over the years.

GREAT reference.  Had a computer class with Bryce and partied with him quite a bit through other connections.  So freaking fast it was unreal.  He looked like he should just run track, but that dude was a monster on kick-off and punt coverage.  Freaking awesome!

Lots of talk about Truman.  I went to high school with him, and he and I have dated the same girl.
No word on if this gives me a higher EMAW rating

All very good picks. I really like Truman and Loomis. Which one was it that was all over the place when we put the second team D in against TTU?

Curry is gross. Sex is pretty OK. But I like Truman.

Favorite ST player by far was LOOOOOOMIS.  Only guy not fooled vs. KU on the fake punt (was blocked, Lockett made the tackle if memory serves).  Plus, he's from MACKSVILLE, KS.

Doerr was fun to yell at times.  Especially after a shanked punt.

Are you trying to get PI'd off the board by expressing love for an athlete who hails from a KS school west of US-81?  :sdeek:

When did Doerr ever shank a punt?  Not saying it didn't happen, just don't remember it.

Logan Dold. I mean wtf, right? Who starts their first two years and sidelines it the next two?  It's suppose to be the other way around.
