what's his deal, exactly? just not as good as i thought, maybe? minutes down. production down. maybe just a slow starter? idk. he looks like sophomore jo and not the beast we saw down the stretch last year. if you know his deal, then post it here cause i want to know what it is.

if you want to run off your coach because he's a hardass, is it likely that you want to practice really hard when he's gone?

Soph JO picked it up quite a bit when 'sprilla and Judge bolted.  Seemed to regress in JR non-con then back to good JO down the stretch.  My theory is that he just needs 15-20 games to get warmed up

It's the absolute worse. I can accept any amount of bashing related to oscar's offense generating brick after brick, softer defense, and ridiculous comments about how tough the GW crowd was, but the chicken nuggets/nice guy stuff is way over played. If he doesn't win its because he's a bad basketball coach, period.

The quick and logical solution would be for curry to #TeamGottlieb

I don't equate "chicken nuggets" with "nice guy."  I equate it with getting crap-canned for losing, making your family stand there and cry during a farewell presser and then taking the room out for chicken nuggets.

So, if I make a chicken nuggets reference, realize it's a blanket disapproval of oscar, not a criticism of him being #nicerthanfrank.

Jo's entire career at K-State is filled with huge gaps of WTF play, why is anyone the least bit surprised.

You take what you can get from the guy because the bottom line is he's just not a good basketball player.

Unfortunately he wasn't having back spasms the first 6 weeks of the season.  JO is bad because he is lost in this offense.  Sophomore second half and junior JO was much better when we went to the pinch post.  He didn't have to play with his back to the basket.  He could play in the high post with pick and rolls and he could crash to the basket when needed.  He is exclusively playing back to the basket now, which not only hurts his offensive production but it hurts his ability to rebound the ball offensively.

He has taken his offensive issues to the defensive end.  I think this is a combination of him taking his offensive issues with him and frankly not playing hard enough or tough enough.  This is on him and the coaching staff.  He is a senior, he shouldn't need to be motivated by external sources.  That being said the coaching staff had 6 months to watch film and needed to do a better job of putting the best players in the position to succeed and they aren't doing that with any of our best players, Will is comfortable though so that's good.  I can't stand Mike Decourcey, but he warned about this exact thing with Weber before the season started.

One of the marks of a good coach is taking the players you have and molding the system around them, while a crap coach forces the players to conform to a system that they aren't built for.  LHC Bill Snyder is a good coach...Weber is a crap coach.
