Title: scouting help
Post by: sys on March 21, 2010, 11:16:55 AM
thoughts on how useful it is to talk to other staffs from an opponent's conference?  would it really be much more efficient than just watching film?

martin said in an 810 interview this week that he wouldn't help with scouts on big 12 teams.  and implied that would be standard practice across conference coaching staffs.  but does that hold up when dealing with longtime friends?  like martin/huggins vs. mu or neck/jacobson vs ku?

Kind of surprising.  After listening to Frank gush over Huggs, you think he'd give a little help for MU.  Not sure how big a deal it would be.  It would obviously be a bigger deal if you're giving advice on a team you've played multiple times.

Coachspeak.  Martin will absolutely help Huggins however possible with info about Mizzou, just like Huggins will absolutely help Martin however possible with info about Pitt and/or Cuse.
