I would think so. K-State continues to be a force in "ALL" sports and has to be one of thee most recognizable national brands now. Think about it, "We own Texas", took down Stoops at home this year, and KU's bball team could potentially be on the rocks this season. I'm starting to think when national talking heads think the Big 12, the first thing that pops in their brains is: K-State! Thoughts?

I think that is probably the case.
When people think of greatness. Muhammed Ali, Michael Jordan, K-State. Not really in the same league as other schools in terms of popularity.

but, of course we are........

If this was the case then we'd be turning down stellar 5 stars recruits...
-
I've lived in Texas for 15 years I can assure that everyone around here, save for a few UT homers, believes that K-State is the face of the conference. I assume it's the same nationally.

Who says we aren't?

Bill doesn't want 5-star recruits. He wants youngsters who want to work hard and make themselves better every day.

When have we not been? I mean, why would that change?
:bill: :bill: :bill:

Is there any doubt? I would say in smaller "niche" college basketball circles ku may have the edge but most of thst is offset by the utter incompetence that the rest of that athletic department is run. There is not a worse football program in DI. And football is all anyone cares about.
-
I've had multiple people ask me this week what are the schools besides K-State and Texas in the Big XII. To be fair, I'd have to say we're 1 and Texas is 1A in terms of recognizability.
-
No.
TCU has a recent drug scandal, a ton of money, and we're in tight with Nike. So.......no.

I would be 99% of people, if guessing who is in the Big XII, would forget TCU.
-
I bet more than 75% of all Americans couldn't even tell you what TCU stands for.

No, in the South it's still seen as OU and UT in football and Kansas in bball. You're going to have to string together some more years like the one you've had.
Klein is a huge help, good to see a KSU player nominated for Heisman. Was Sproles ever nominated?

Confirmed. Heard someone yesterday call TCU - Texas Catholic University.
-
Thought it was Texas Correctional Univ?
-
Texas College in University Park

At Home Depot they sell paint in the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and K-State.

Really? When I was in Chicago with some buds we took a poll of the population. We all wore EMAW gear everyday and people would literally congratulate us on being fans of the best, most lovable sports program in the country (world?). When we asked them what they thought of KU they would say "KAY WHO!?!" and we'd just laugh and laugh...

Hell we got emaw in alaska. we are everywhere.

Wait, who is TCU?
-
True story: until this year, I had no idea TCU was even IN the Big XII. Right before the Baylor game, my gf texted me and said "I thought this is who we played last week :dunno:"
