I figure this is a bit of a different question than the Travel thread so I will ask it here.
Any recommendations for things to do in the metroplex? Time of day is really of no concern considering I will have zero things to do but pop my k-state gear's collar until kick-off.
Looking for  + with a little :opcat: as possible.

Vegas 1st and 4th, downtown Scottdale 2nd and 3rd. Downtown Scottsdale is supposed to be the best bar district in Phoenix.

Based on what I've seen on TV, Phoenix is a real hotbed for extreme tattooing, piercings, crazy and implants. You could check that scene and maybe even get into it.
-
We are going to the Phoenix Suns game on the 2nd.

BEASLEY!!!!

Went to a Coyotes hockey game last time... cant do that again...
-
Margaritaville!
-
I recommend you don't go.
-
The stadium is in a horrible place with nothing around it. Tempe is really the only choice for a good time and a long way from the stadium. I don't know why they didn't keep the game at Sun Devil. :shakesfist:

And yeah, Tempe. Especially if you're there for NYE.

Tickets for the games on both the 2nd and 4th are super cheap. Like ACC Championship game cheap.

I didn't think they would be much considering its against Philly and its middle of the week. Will be wearing purple and probably bring a kstate flag if this does go down.

I was out in Phoenix last February and right across the street from the stadium is what amounts to the same thing as KC Live in Kansas City, only in the middle of nowhere. There is nothing else around the stadium. I am guessing this bar district was done by the same firm because it was basically the same thing. We went out there during the week and there were probably 100 people in the whole damn place. I imagine it will be a happening place during the bowl week, but have I said that it is out in the middle of nowhere yet. There is a titty bar that is not too far from there, but I don't remember it being worth a crap.
-
You are probably talking about Westgate. It's located directly outside the Jobing.com Arena (Phoenix Coyotes). It is a very happening place on the weekends and especially when there are games going on.

Glendale is a million mile drive from anything fun in Phoenix. Stay in Scottsdale or Tempe, neither are very fun, both are infinitely more fun than Glendale, which is basically the Euless of the Metroplex.

Mill Avenue in Tempe is right next to ASU Campus and probably has the best entertainment value. Went down there a few years back on spring break to see some spring training baseball and we spent most of our time down there before and after games. Nice views if you know what I mean. :fatty:

Completely forgot about Mill Avenue. That place is pretty solid. There is also a mesquite burger grill spot that is pretty dope right next to the ASU campus. Will return.

Holy crap I did not know this:
K-State sent 45,000 fans to the 1997 Fiesta Bowl victory over Syracuse, a number that remains the largest college fan group ever to cross state lines to see a game.

One of the three things Bill said on stage Saturday.
On the KSU bowl website.
General knowledge.
What else would you expect? :dunno:

They upgraded to a better stadium.
Went to a cardinals game there back in 2006 or 2007 can't really remember. But it was awesome.
If you can take a tour of the stadium I would suggest you do.
-
The stadium may be the 3rd best after JerryWorld and new Meadowlands

University of Phoenix Stadium is elite, Glendale is horrawful. The Fiesta Bowl should have been left at Sun Devil Stadium. The event is the biggest part of the bowl experience, the location of UOP in Glendale robs the event feel of the Fiesta Bowl that used to be amazing. Leaving the stadium to go to a block party with 250,000 people was unreal. The B-52s :D

This. Being able to party on Mill, stumble to the game, then stumble back to Mill and party some more was a fantastic experience. I don't really care about the aesthetics of the stadium. Sun Devil is no slouch.
