Offensive points per play ended up 3rd (to 02 and 98).

Assuming Oregon would be below us in every category if it weren't for that weak Pac-12 schedule...I mean, KU could have won 3 games on their conference sched.

Thanks _FAN.

The second half vs. Texas really confirmed again how explosive this team can be. Hopefully they show up in AZ.

when _FAN posts some stats that i don't completely understand, and then says something to the effect of "guys, it will not be close" that's the part when i stop speculating and start  :gocho:

Those stats indicate that the game will be very close and we need to either win the turnover battle or field position battle to win the game.

We also finished #1 in the nation in punt returns (22.0 per return), KO returns (28.45 per return), and TO margin (+1.83 per game).

Oregon was #11 (14.2), #122 (16.7), and #3 (+1.58) respectively.

Just a fyi on Oregon’s defense, the average rank of the scoring offenses Oregon faced in the Pac-12 was 65.  For KSU in the Big 12, it was 36.

Good find.

K-State also finished #3 nationally in penalties and penalty yards. Oregon was #118 in penalties and #120 in penalty yards.

Will Bill have our D-line jump offsides with contact just to slow the game down? Bill doesn't care much about yardage between the 15's, so what is the big deal if we jump and give them a 1st and 5 on the 45 vs. giving up a big play because we are out of position?

Possibly. We'll probably have some defensive injuries occasionally as well.

Is Oregon any faster than other teams we have played?  Is there a stat for offensive plays / time of possession?

They are about as good as Okie lite. No better no worse.

Pace numbers.

Oregon runs 82.4 plays per game, #6 nationally. By comparison Baylor ran 82.7 (#5) and OSU ran 78.3 (#18).

K-State runs 64.3 plays (#115) per game.

Oregon runs a play every 20.5 seconds they possess the football (#7). Baylor runs a play ever 19.3 seconds of possession (#4) and OSU every 21 seconds of possession.

K-State runs a play every 29.7 seconds of possession (#119).

I love this idea.  Just give the Dline the green light to try to time the snap, if they get it right it could blow up the play anyways

I think it's a horrible idea. Our defense plays soft coverages to make the offense run a whole lot of plays to move the ball down the field. Jumping offsides to give the offense free yardage and easy first downs is just dumb. If we are gassed, we should just fake an injury like everyone else does.

Denied. Have to make contact prior to the snap in order for the play to be dead. If you try to time the snap and miss it, but don't make contact, then they get a free play. DO NOT WANT TO GIVE THEM FREE PLAYS!
