this deserves its own thread.
somebody tell me wtf to do. there's like a million multiplayer options and I don't know where to start. then give me your gamer tags and tell me how to find you so we can kill people as a team and stuff. talk to me like I'm 50 cause I'm new to this and haven't played multiplayer since the original modern warfare and I've never played multiplayer on xbox.

Just play ground war, it will be 8v8 so you should have plenty of targets to shoot at. Until you level up I would just go with the mercenary set up, once you level up you can customize your own package.

Stick with the SMGs (sub machine guns) or assault rifles to start off with. Overall those 2 groups of guns are the best and easiest to use.
I like Kill Confirmed. It's like Team Deathmatch only you get points for your team by picking up the dog tags of the player you killed. Other teammates can pick them up, or the opposing team can pick them up and deny you the points.
Don't spend a token on:
sensor grenades, the 2nd available shotgun, the shield, Swarm scorestreak (you won't reach it)
Spend a token on:
Counter-UAV, Ghost (your last one), every assault rifle and SMG (so you get a feel for them and find which gun suits you best,) the 2nd launcher

if you want to rack up points, start using the EMP grenades. great way to earn points off teammate's kills.

DMR definitely packs the biggest punch. It seems slower so i havent converted to it yet.
Which armor ability do you guys prefer? I use jetpack mostly, just so i get around maps more efficiently, but some games i never touch it. Promethean vision is nice too.

I straight owned on BO1 and MW3, but am still finding my way on BO2. Clan tag is EMAW.

I prefer the bmr because I am a panick spammer. with the burst you have a higher chance to hit when aiming wildly.
they actually do the same amount of damage and have the same rate of fire. bmr just spreads it over a burst

my genius is sniping and I have nowhere to snipe. I'm just running around getting destroyed. every game I end up with like 4 kills and 12 deaths. I look at the leaderboard some dudes have 12 kills and 1 death. like wtf!?

Then I'd recommend the Battlefield series. Their maps are larger and give people more of an opportunity to snipe.

the elites are also juiced out of their minds on ritalin and adderall, so you cant compare yourself to them.

I had 29 kills and less than 5 deaths the other night, until about the last minute and died another 3-4 times immediately after spawning because the other team was calling in killstreak bombings on top of me.
I was using the 3 round burst assault rifle to snipe and move between 4 or 5 spots on the Carrier. Carrier is great for sniping.

yes carrier is my favorite.
I can't remember whether it was ghost recon or modern warfare but they had some maps that were specifically designed for sniping. I was playing on pc and downloaded a bunch of user maps that were purely sniper as well.
