Title: Purple Reign on Saturday
Post by: ripcurlgti on November 27, 2012, 09:05:49 AM
I guess it will be good for both Big 12 purple teams to win on Saturday.

Kansas State doesn't want to share the championship with OU

and it would be sweet for TCU to win its first Big 12 home game

I care that OU loses, I'm not one for sharing things. Especially Dr Peppers

You know what would be sweet?  Not having to hear how awful and small-timey TCU is.

Yeah, sharing is bad enough, but having to share with those cockgobblers... :barf:  Not to mention they should have lost the last 2 weeks  :chainsaw:

pretty meh on sharing, I want TCU to win so we can have it by ourselves but I'm not going to spaz about sharing it.

Someone please explain for me why we would share the title if both KSU and OU win. We would both have one conference loss, but we would have beaten them head to head. It makes no sense to me   :dunno:

In terms of a BCS bowl, yes Kansas State "wins" for either having the head to head match or being ranked higher.

In terms of conference champion, it will be a "tie". Both teams will get a trophy.

2012 Kansas State Big 12 Co-Champion
2012 Oklahoma Big 12 Co-Champion

Are there any plans for trophy presentations Saturday?  Do they take one to Ft. Worth for if OU wins?  Will 1 be here?

Doubt it since its not a real "championship" game. Big 12 office will probably FedEx it overnight, should be in Vanier by monday afternoon

It's threads like this that make me really wish we hadn't lost to Baylor.

Its hard to get over how terrible that is. We could still finish well and have a great season, but I will always look back on that as a debacle.

If Baylor wins against OSU, they'll be 7-5.  Not terrible.  Similar to ISU last year re: OSU.  Conference title, bro's.  That should be our sole focus.  National titles are happenstance (at leat until they go to an 8 team playoff).

I think if Collin throws about 4 TD's, runs for a couple more, makes a final push for the Heisman, and we win big I will be happy.  Probably won't ever get over the butthurt from the Baylor game but I'm going to try like crap to enjoy the crap out of that game Saturday.

Who cares? The only people who would recognize them as "Big 12 champions" are the big 12 and OU fans.

Cant the same can be said about Kansas State?

OU lost to Kansas State
Kansas State lost to Baylor

Does either loss make the other more of a champion?

You should rub some prickly pear on your taint.

I don't care as long as I get to buy Big 12 champs and Fiesta Bowl attire.

I want to be outright, but there is a part of me that would like 2 Big 12s in the BCS too.

Kent State giving Florida a 28-17 game would be pretty hilarious IMO

Kent State is really bad. I think Lafayette is probably a much better team than them.

Wasn't Kent State the team that had the guy return a kick back 50 some yards the wrong way earlier this year?  :flush:

In a few years, no one will remember how many teams from the Big 12 made it to a BCS game during the 2012-2013 season. A handful of people will know who the Big 12 Champ(s) was/were, but hey, that's more than no one.
