I used to root for Notre Dame when they were just a little team that would lose to Air Force and went through coaches like Charlie Weis and that one guy that coaches for either New Mexico or New Mexico State now.
But now I hate them. I hate Brian Kelly and he is a murderer. He put that kid up on that lift in 40 mph winds and gets away with it.
And their linebacker milking all of this personal tragedy to help ESPN move the needle.
They play the absolute shittiest schedule and get to the national championship game.
It makes me think we should just go indie like Domer and BYU or whatever and just play in the Big 12 in basketball.
I can't wait for this 4 team playoff in a couple of years. I also hate the SEC but I will love watching either TreeKiller or RayCharles'SwanSong kick the crap out of Domer and watching Brian Kelly absolutely lose it on the sideline watching his defense get shredded and his qb get kicked around.
eff you Domer!
-
His Bo Pelini impersonation was nice today. Real :curse: face
-
You really think an SEC offense is going to "shred" ND's defense?
-
I honestly think ND might pull it off and I'm not sure what my thoughts are on that.
-
I think ND could do it and I wouldn't mind seeing it, just to end the SEC streak.
-
I don't think ND scores. :dunno:
-
Notre Dame struggled to score against USCs shitty defense, Bama would bury them
-
It will be a shootout.
9-5

Remember how Alabama's offense isn't very good and Notre Dame has a really good defense?
The game would pretty much be a toss-up imo, and would look a lot like the Alabama LSU game from earlier this year.

or like Alabama LSU in last year NC game and I believe LSU defense was better that year than ND now.
-

Yup.
Remember how Alabama didn't let LSU pass the 50 yard line last year or some nonsense?
It will be like that.
Saban is 3/3 in NC games and this will be his worst opponent so far.
-
I hate Kelly but pretty meh about the rest. They won all they played so whatever. Won't spend more that 30 minutes watching the NC game.
-
I'm going to pretend we are in a four team play off. Give each game an eye test and declare a national champion.
-
i hate them and i hate all catholics and i hate all irish and i despise 'humans' from northern indiana.

Alabama will clown suit ND.
This season makes me sick even though it has been very good. This was our chance. We could beat ND...

No hate from me. They haven't gotten the breaks in the polls that they've gotten so often in the past. They've earned the championship game and if they win it, they will have earned the championship. Good for them.

Bubbles, are you in Houston?

Don't understand the ND hate. Sorry they didn't crap down their leg playing an unranked team on the road. Must be nice.
-
They started the race for national exposure back in the sixties, they were on TV all the time and even had their own nationally broadcast show where you could watch a no huddle sort of replay of the previous weeks game. Now everyone is trying to get a bigger piece of the pie with all this conference realignment stuff and Notre Dame is just kickin back all independent , bad ass and laughing all the way to the bank.
-
Gotta admire the hell out of a team that rises up and seizes a golden opportunity when one presents itself instead of taking a big fat steaming dump on it.
Notre Dame makes me proud to be an American.
-
Better ND than 2 SEC teams in the Championship which is what it was down to.

Losing to Stanford is seizing an opportunity these days?
Oregon must be opportunistic as eff this season.

Yep. Basically everyone (including me) has looked for any reason to discredit them all season. I hope they win.
-
Let's put it this way, it's like the 100 meter finals for the Olympic Gold medal and Notre Dame is Usain Bolt and the K-State Cats are that adorable guy with two metal legs.
It's really fun to cheer your brains out for the guy with two metal legs when against all odds he breaks out to a lead, but when he falls down on his face 10 feet from the finish line and gets trampled by everybody you're really happy to see Usain Bolt win, just as long as the Canadian guy who's pretty good too doesn't win.
-
Georgia is going to beat Alabama and will do so handily, they are the best team in the country. My SEC fatigue will lead me to meekly cheer cheer for old Notre Dame, but Georgia will make it 8 in a row, by the 5th different school.
-
i think if you want to be mad at KSU for blowing it, then just be mad at KSU; don't be happy at ND. That's misguided. But, I mean, if you're into molesting alter boys, then yeah, ND is your team.
-

I will root for any team over an SEC team, simple as that.
-
Don't care; will probably eventually lean towards whoever plays Notre Dame to help K-State's chances towards the goEMAW National Championship.
-

You and THE_ED agree.

Can't believe The ED jumped off the cat bandwagon the way he did...bet he's sloppin on the Domers now
-
it's almost like OP stole all of my thoughts! :sdeek:
-
by nature I'm a pretty butthurt person... so I'm going to hate ND and you can't stop me :bill:
-
I will admit a small part of me died when I saw the jubilation on their face, knowing they had what I wanted so badly for our guys. I think I like their players but loathe their coach if that makes sense.

I'm in love with ND

Don't love or hate them. Just kind of glad the NC is not going to be Bama-Florida or Georgia-Florida...woof
-
Look. Their Hawaiian linebacker was yelling "who let the dogs out" or some stupid crap like that before the game. Their head coach is a freaking weirdo and a cheat and a murderer. How can you root for old Notre Dame? Makes me wanna :barf:
-
Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! :emawkid:

how horrible would a ohio state/notre dame championship game have been.... :sdeek:

Brady Quinn started for the Chiefs today

This post goes back to the idiots on page 1: Alabama has a pretty good offense. One of the best.
-
The main reason Notre Dame's defense is good and has these goal-line stands is this Louis Nix guy (#9).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bc5MPrEC_2g#t=148s
How does a guy from Jacksonville, FL get recruited up to the shithole that is South Bend, IN? I know why. Because some rich boosters from Domer paid to take care of his mom and 13 siblings and injected him with HGH and sausage.
These guys are rough ridin' cheats and I hope Brian Kelly gets run out of town Tresell-style, only with no cheering when he comes back to the stadium a couple years later.
eff you Domer!
-

They have done that against an absolute dogshit schedule, though. ND has faced tougher defenses than Alabama, and their offense is starting to come together. Just look at a photo of Alabama's starting QB shirtless, and that is all you need to know about that garbage offense. I think Georgia will probably beat Alabama, but ND will smash either one of them. Meanwhile, the best team in the nation, Oregon, gets stuck (hopefully not ) boat racing our Cats in the Fiesta Bowl.

Charlie Weis and his Superbowl rings brought him there. Wait till you see where KU is when Weiss' classes have matured. Hint: They'll be winning more than zero games against FBS competition.

Top 10 in YPP and PPP right?

Top 10 in YPP and PPP right?
They racked up all of those yards and points against an FCS team, 2 sunbelt teams, Auburn, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Missouri, Michigan, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

Well, the teams I just listed are 11/12 of their schedule. LSU is a very good team. Those other teams, not so much. A&M is a typical middle of the road Big 12 team, which is head and shoulders better than most of their schedule, I suppose.

Just citing facts here, NK.
Why is it so hard to acknowledge that Alabama, arguably the best football program of the last 5 years, has a pretty good offense?

There is a world of difference between having a pretty good offense vs. having an elite-level offense capable of lighting up the scoreboard on Notre Dame.
-
I don't think this years Alabama team could be last years Alabama team. This team just seems meh to me.

I never said Bama would light up the scoreboard on Notre Dame. Just that they have one of the best offenses in college football today. That really shouldn't be up for debate.
-
Bama isn't playing Notre Dame you noobs
-
Notre Dame goes 10-2 at BEST with our schedule. They faced pud offenses all year long while we face juggernauts week in and week out. OU and Miami are the only 2 with a pulse that ND played. It disgusts me all the love ND is getting

You could say that about any team in America, possibly with exception to the Kansas State Wildcats, who look like they are going to finish 11-1.

"Good" and "bad" are obviously pretty relative terms.
For example, I think Alabama's offense is almost as bad as Notre Dame's offense. Are both offenses capable of putting up big numbers against BC/Auburn type teams? Of course, but against the few good defenses each team has played, their offenses stink. The difference is that ND's offense has stunk against teams with bad defenses.
Listen, I get that the SEC has several really good defenses, but the SEC also has some stinkhole, overrated offenses that people give the benefit of the doubt because ZOMG SEC DEFENSE. Thing is, is that Alabama had an absolute cakewalk through the SEC this year. Props to them getting a W at LSU, but the offense was absolutely dreadful for 95% of that game and LSU's offense is stinkhole. After that, Bama's second best conference win was against who? Mississippi State (4-4 conference record) at home?
I don't buy it. The SEC is a largely a sham built upon the fact that (1) they play 4 noncon games and (2) the bottom half of the league is complete and utter dogshit, which results in inflated records (and rankings) for the top half of the conference, which rationalizes the hilarious fiction that 6 SEC teams are among the ten best teams in the country.
-
The fact remains that they have a top 10 offense with the 13th ranked schedule in the country. If you think our offense is pretty good you have to thinks theirs is as well.
-
Alabama has a great offensive line, a couple running backs who are good to great, good recievers and an experienced quarterback who does what is asked of him. They will put points on the board against a Notre Dame defense who has a good line, good linebackers (with a great MLB) and an average secondary.
-
This is the Notre Dame hate thread! How do you numbnuts get so far off track? This is not about TreeKillerU!
:chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:
Also, Beems, how did you get Bubbles' password?
-
Okay you're right. I overstretched earlier. Alabama's offense is pretty good and very efficient.
However, I still maintain that when Alabama faces top flight defenses (like LSU) the offense stinks. ND has a top flight defense. Anyone that thinks Alabama's offense would "shred" (which was the language i was responding to on the first page) ND's defense is silly.
If it's Alabama, the NC is going to be a low scoring game.

Hell, they should be 10-2 WITH THEIR schedule and everybody knows it. No one with a brain thinks they are even close to being the best team in the country. I'm surprised Vegas doesn't already have a line with ND +20 vs. Any Team X.
-
Notre Dame would be an underdog to 5 SEC teams, Bama, Georgia, Fl, A&M, LSU
-
notre dame is sexy

True, you could also say that about OU, who wouldn't have to play Notre Dame. Also, maybe Florida. I think it's a pretty big stretch to say that any other one loss team wouldn't have 2 losses playing our schedule which is far more difficult than theirs.
-
Hate Notre Dame, and all of the knob-slobbing they're getting. A point of reference is that when they did their independent TV deal with NBC, my greatest point of respect for KU was that KU then cancelled their basketball games with ND in protest. ND is arguably the starting point of collegiate athletic programs moving from fielding the best teams/programs, to money-grubbing in conference realignment. If that's a respected viewpoint, so be it.
-
I don't think Notre Dame is getting any more knob slobbing than any other program who has been the clear #1.

Pfft, media is all about ND being in MNC because of all of the numbnuts that follow Notre Dame just because they're Notre Dame. If you haven't picked up on that yet, well, I don't know what to say. It's not the same level of knob slobbing that other #1's have gotten in case you haven't noticed.
