This quote is fascinating to me. Many Jews attribute victories in the 1967 six days war to divine intervention and literally the "Hand of God" holding back the Palestinian military during the conflict. Maybe I'm reading too much into this statement, but it seems like it is an attempt to say "God is on our side and against you" to the Israeli people.
