Title: Pets In The Office.
Post by: asava on November 21, 2012, 09:46:34 AM
Thoughts?

Every once in a while, usually on Fridays or if I have to come in on holidays, I'll bring a dog in with me. Not a bad gig. Anybody else do this? Had any problems? Do others hate the idea of pets wandering around a place of business? Does your boss have a really annoying animal that ruins your life?

I love when people bring their dogs in the office. I wish we had an office dog.

Last place I worked had a company dog.  The dog was kept by the CEO and her office was right next to the front door of one of the buildings.  The dog was constantly running back and forth between the front desk and her office.  People coming from other facilities always stopped to pet the dog.  Everyone loved it.  Everyday at lunch someone would always take it outside to play.  It was good times.

We do.  Started out cool, owner had one, I brought my two dogs.  Everything was cool.  Then the owner's wife started working off site and all of a sudden he brought her dogs into the office too.  I don't bring mine now and there are too many and way too distracting.

Very low number of dogs is fine.  More than a couple sucks.

Also, gtfoomf with cats in the office.  They want noting more than to lay on your keyboard or paperwork that you are working on.

Pets in the office would totally reduce workplace stress.  Can't understand why anyone would be against this.

Agreed.  Not a simple office though.  Been there, done that.  Sucks.

:sdeek:  I don't think dipping pens in company ink is a good idea generally, but definitely not when somebody else had their pen in there and said pen is some cheapo value pack Bic without a cap and is all chewed on.  Sorry fanning, but no.

We have a mini Australian Shepherd that is our office dog.  Pretty laid back.  He always lets me know when someone comes in that he doesn't know.  He runs in and hides under my desk.
