Jesus.
-
When it comes to absurdly demoralizing failure, nobody gets their money's worth when it's all on the line like we do.
:billdance:
-
Wrong.
Stop acting like we're the only school that ever crap the bed.
Go ask some Nebraska fans how they endured the first 20 years of Dr. Tom's bowl victories.
This crap is hard for a reason.
-
We ain't Nebraska, fella. This was our one shot and it was paved with bricks of gold.
-
And we lost by 4 tds
-
I wonder how the Sooner fans dealt with 35-7.

One shot? Are you counting just 1998 or just 2012?
-
Oregon just lost at home to a good, but not great Stanford team. Alabama, the team "that could beat some NFL teams" just lost at home to JohnnyFootball/Johnnycomelately aTm running the same offense Baylor runs.
Yeah, they had a losing record, but that wasn't some slouch out there, they've got one of the most prolific offenses in the country.
-
I wonder how the Sooner fans dealt with 35-7.
Probably pretty well since they still went to the National Title game.

Thing is, as much as we'd like to believe that no shot is paved with bricks of gold. It is just a shot, a real chance. Most of the time you fail. Oklahoma has 7 national titles. How many times have they had a shot and failed. It's rough ridin' hard to win.
In roughly 25 years of football we've had roughly 4 decent shots, with 98 and 2012 being the best of those. We're 0-4.
It is rough ridin' hard to win it all.

Of course it's hard. It's also pretty rough ridin' hard for the #1 team to be defeated by a team with a losing record, considering it's the first time it's ever happened in BCS history. But, leave it to good ol K-State to add that notch the bed post of epic failures.
It takes a special kind of fail to walk into a stadium with a national title, conference title on the line, the leading Heisman candidate, and possible coach of the year and get annihilated by four touchdowns, no matter the opponent, much less one as pathetic as Baylor.
Look, this is what we do. It's who we are. Might as well appreciate it for what it is.

It's not "who we are" or whatever. We're not some cursed sports program or something. Other programs have had 100+ years of a legit chance of playing for titles if they have a good year, meanwhile we've had a functioning football program for barely 20 years, and are really only now getting the facilities to compete on anywhere close to a level playing field.
Anyways, we're not cursed you dorks.
-
Yeah, we're rough ridin' cursed alright. Two legit shots at it all in the last 14 years.
Let's name off the other schools that never even have one shot.
You can list just the Big 12 schools you know of if you get overwhelmed.
Those are the schools that should be sad. Not us.

This changes, hmm, 0 of what I just said.

tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
also people should stop acting like baylor was really that bad. insane offense, terrible defense. when the d shows up like last night, they are very hard to beat, especially when you play as bad as we did.

Their record was also misleading because they had played 4 of 6 conference games on the road.
