Title: Players win ships; not coaches
Post by: shivvyman on November 17, 2012, 10:38:23 PM
2 and 3 stars will never win a natty. Some games when crap aint working you need talent. Ksu has no speed or physicality past starting 22.

Well depth certainly seemed to be an issue with the injuries. But for the most part I think you're wrong.

this is what Michigan doesn't understand.  We don't have all 2s and 3s.  In fact we have some damn good players that we either backed into or lucked into.  That is why K-State only does this once in a blue moon.

Who says the next season like this has to be done w/ 2 or 3 stars?

Idiot.

Me? I'm not saying we're going to contend for a national title next year.

I don't believe Snyder will be the coach at Kansas State forever and ever. I ALSO THINK HE CAN CHANGE! AND HE HAS!!!

If some pieces fall into place on the defensive end of the football (BIG IF) next year's team could very well be better than this team. The argument made by shivvyman would be a whole lot better if the coaching staff didn't melt down in this game at least 15 minutes before the players did. This was a failure on LHC Bill Snyder first and foremost.

Coaches got scared and abandoned the run too early

Agreed.
pehaps LFIQ here, but we all feel we abandoned the run and panicked too early. There just wasn't running lanes open, and CK seemed content on staying in the pocket instead of running for first downs, keeping the defense honest, adn moving the chains. There were plenty of opports to run, and didn't. this is most dissappointing.

Players aren't dropping passes and Klein is not throwing interceptions if LHC Bill Snyder doesn't decide to abandon his running game, which was working just fine, btw, in favor of trying to outscore an uptempo offense. Snyder compounded every mistake made on the field. If anything was proven tonight, it's that LHC Bill Snyder absolutely cannot handle success and will never win a national championship. Better luck with the next coach, I guess.

Winning National Championships is really hard even for teams that are loaded with talent and have good coaches.

I am way more disappointed that a chance to win the conference outright was reduced significantly.
