Yep, still really going to be nervous about the stakes against Texas. Sucks that OU didn't lose today and get us our half clinched anyway.

Someone comes to you before the season and says, "You'll be in the BCS title chase in mid-November and you'll control your destiny for a conference title going into the last game of the year," in August, you love very second of it.

This season has been amazing and still can be.

I want 12-1 with a win in Tempe.  Snyder gets a second trophy and gets that Fiesta Bowl he should have won in '03.

This. I am in a lot of pain about the fact that we had a golden opportunity to win a NC game. But since that isn't possible, I still want the Big XII Championship Game and a BCS Fiesta Bowl win.

Never did I once think that K-State would have been a #1 ranking in the BCS polls, going 10-0 up to this point. I truthfully had us pegged 10-3 from the beginning of the season.

Also we could root for a OSU win and a TCU win as well.

Nobody knows because it doesn't matter.

This season is a failure.

I look at it like this...

We won 10 games last year.

We could win 12 this year with a conference title.

Next year, with a pretty easy schedule (and 8 home games), we could win 8-9 games and go to another bowl game.

I mean, really, that puts us where OSU is right now, and it sets us firmly in that second tier of teams in the conference behind OU and UT (OSU, WVU).

Not even comparable. Don't you think when you should be in the National Championship that winning your conference is like omg cool, I'm not going to be pissed that we're not in the championship, at least we have this cool ass conference championship!

Yep.

I agree, other than lumping WVU up there with us. This season has proven that WVU was a product of a weak schedule, and they are several years from competing in the Big 12, if they ever will be able to.

OSU looked like they could easily beat OU. That's all we need to be guaranteed a share of the Big 12. Although when I saw that we could be matched up with Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl, I got really excited and don't think I'd be able to refrain from offing myself if we miss that opportunity.

Well, they had better do a whole lot better job of coaching and scheming if they're going to beat Texas.

Slothfense is back . . . we looked slow, the O-line couldn't get any push, Dimel/Miller/Snyder have been exposed.

Is this right?

Assume we lose to Texas and OU loses to OSU and all 4 of us end up 7 - 2 in conference.  The first multi-team tie breaker is record against the other tied teams so:

KSU 2 - 1
Texas 2-1
OU 1 -2
OSU 1 - 2

This eliminates OU and OSU so then it goes to head to head and Texas wins the Fiesta bid?

I'd say losing to a team that has had a winning conference season once in the history of the Big 12 did the trick.

If our presale for the NC was greatly outpacing their expected returns, as rumored, I'd say a large portion of them check marked the Fiesta Bowl while they did it.  I don't know any facts or anything, just my suspicion.  I have a hard time believing a large portion of those excited enough to pre-order for the NC didn't check mark the Fiesta while they were at it.

If we beat Texas, much of the awful feeling many in our fan base has right now will be gone and people will move on. I don't think we'll have any problem getting 12-15K to the Fiesta if we go there.

There will be people with circumstances where going to the Fiesta is more likely than going to Miami, due to location, money, non-football, etc.  There won't be more people that go to the Fiesta than would've gone to Miami.

Love it, _fan. I refuse to let this bring butthurt into my life. Zimmerman has always been a big piece to the puzzle and it showed Saturday. When you're a team that lives off of DITR, this will happen when injuries mount. Snyder will scheme his little heart out for Texas and I'm excited for that game. I still need a dr pepper and I wouldn't mind a few tostitos to go with that.

i just don't want our fans to act disappointed about a BCS game and decide it's not worth it, when we have seemingly traveled so well in our recent history of bowls. i can understand that it is a difficult commitment to make for a lot of families.

I don't think its insignificant that tickets to the Fiesta Bowl can as much as $200 cheaper than NC game tickets.

We all wanted bigger things, but if we lock up the Fiesta Bowl with a win against Texas then I have no doubt our fans will buy a lot of tickets.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how do we end up playing Stanford in the Fiesta?  Either they go to the Rose or they have 3 loses.  The only way is if the Fiesta takes a 3 loss Stanford, who played there last year, over a 2 lost Clemson.  Is Clemson really that bad at traveling?

Been a while since I've been on here, but I wanted to stop by and apologize for not helping KSU win the BigXII outright Saturday. We had OU beat with 26 seconds left and our efense(intentional typo) crap the bed, again, as usual.

I would be more likely to go to the Fiesta than Miami.

And that's very sensible of you considering where you live, different argument for most K-Staters. It seems emawblast is suggesting that people should spend several hundred dollars of their family's money to make some odd statement of fandom.

i just don't want our fans to act disappointed about a BCS game and decide it's not worth it, when we have seemingly traveled so well in our recent history of bowls. i can understand that it is a difficult commitment to make for a lot of families.

No one, well 99.5% of us anyway wouldn't be disappointed with a Fiesta Bowl bid.  The fact of the matter though is that we've been there, done that and the national championship is a new, unique experience.

What's funny about it though is that we actually haven't done the Fiesta Bowl as it is now.  That being said, the venue is better but the location of the venue certainly is not.

I fully expect the Texas game to go exactly like this.

It's our game of the century, they have nothing to lose.  Check out the Mack Brown quotes!  Eery how similar this will be when our shell of a secondary gets torched for a couple TD's to start the game and we start panicking again.

Texas loves these types of games.

C'mon guys, my Mountaineers beat Texas, AT HOME, in front of their biggest crowd EVER.

'Nuff said.

Go stomp a hole in their ass and feel better about life.  :ksu:

Texas be two of our best teams in 02 and 03.  Their defense completely dominated us last year.  We were exposed last week.  I give the edge to Texas.

This was on my mind as well

What do you we do if we lose? I mentally won't be able to take it

Our team is banged up, lacks quality depth, and is tired.  This bye week should cure a lot of that.  At home, senior day, champ on the line, I don't see another Baylor/ tcu performance happening.

Our lynch pin player on d is on crutches, qb has sghetti brains, home run threat is hobbled.  This isn't the same team that can steam roll.  We will be very fortunate to win this one.

Our o line doesn't exactly benefit from sghetti brains altered ability

We had 75 yards on like 30 carries against the worst defense in the big 12

We did good against tech and their defense was supposed to be good.  Same line played as Baylor game omg, what happened?

Tech allowed 390 rushing yards to ku.   That is not good IMO.

UT defense was best in the league last year (top 10 nationally) and gave up only 4.6 yards per play.

This year 6.1 yards per play, only KU and WVU are worse.

Texas' defense was just as bad against Baylor as we were.

I don't know what to think.

We're gonna get our ass kicked, I've resigned myself to this.  Did anyone at any point this year think Klein was worthy of the Heisman?  Woof...would have went down as the most garbage winner in the history of life.  We just got our rough ridin' ass kicked by Baylor...rough ridin' BAYLOR....worst D1 team ever besides maybe ku.  No chance in rough ridin' hell we win this game.

I know what to think, this will possibly be Snyder's greatest coaching performance if he finds a way to win this game.

Our team is hobbled and they've lost their swagger.  Texas has the mental edge and probably the physical edge.  Vegas will most likely has this as a pick em.

If we win, it will be nothing short of phenomenal.
