Reading that article makes me proud to be EMAW!  The condescending tone aside, it's good to see the Cats discussed in mainstream media.  Most of the world has no idea how to deal with K-State because what we consider the norm: good, hard-working people who really don't give a crap about impressing anyone, is so foreign to the world they live in that their only reaction is to declare us an anomaly and hope that we'll go away soon.

Too bad you let your bias get in the way.  It was a pretty good article.

Is it really that strange of a place?  The Alabama-A&M game might as well have been played on the planet Neocon but yet we get the simple prairie folk herp derp.

It is what it is.   :frown:

It was my fault for posting the link in the "media hates us thread" which has now turned into "media begrudgingly accepts our world dominance" thread.

Well, Bama is already the big fancy elitist liberal institution in the state, and A&M wore flashy new uniforms. Plus I think A&M may have cured their small-penis syndrome when they joined the SEC. :frown:

Was it? What new insights did you glean from it? I'm sure it's a big hit on phog. And for eff's sake, Sam Brownback knows as much about football as he does about state budgeting, which is to say nothing.

It was so painfully obvious throughout that it was written by some ku bad person that got the assignment because he was "from Kansas".

I read that whole article, but I don't think that I'm any closer to finding out what Kansas State says about America.

I think it says America is full of peasants who grunt at each other approvingly while watching football games.   :dunno:

KU is larger?  Seems mis-leading since we're pretty much the same size.  We're like 200 students smaller this year and will pass them next year?

Is that on campus or overall? (including KU med, Ksu Salina, etc)

Kansas State wears one purple uniform at home and one white uniform on the road—and that's it. "At Kansas State," Davis said, "the throwback uniform is the current uniform."

OregonSmock, what are the local Duck fans saying about traveling to Miami for the NC game?  Do you think they will be there in force or will they watch at home after many when to the 2010 game?

According to a wikipedia page almost certainly created and maintained by Kevin P. Helliker's mother, Kevin P. Helliker (3rd author...bwahahaha) is a graduate of the Department of English at the University of Kansas.

Shocking, right?  That article must have burned like kidney stones on the way out.  URBANE.  OMFG.
