Our strength of schedule is among the worst, but I guess we make up for it offensive and defensive efficiency. I think a large part of the the ranking is a combo of the 3 (O efficieny, D efficiency, SOS).

I can understand KU being down on Kenpom after their performance vs Chattanooga, but how on earth does any system have us ahead of OSU?

Honestly, returning what we did from last year's team and not being ranked preseason is a huge slap in the face.

Uncertainty concerning the coaching change, perhaps?

Vegas had us third in the conference behind texas and ku. Two schools that are going to get bumped up because of huge followings.

When there's not one person that has anything bad to say about the new coach, then that can't be the reason.

One note: a lot of interviews of national ppl on sports talk all said that oscar was a great guy and left it at that. Granted, there were as many that did say he was a great coach. However, when someone asks you about a guy in the context of him having just been hired somewhere and you respond with the great guy thing, that really means you don't think that much of him professionally.
