It was rumored (but not confirmed) that Knute was not a fan of Notre Dame and how they treated him and always had a special place in his heart for K-State. I'm sure he is resting peacefully knowing that his hometown K-State Wildcats are the #1 team in the country and that the Irish will be sitting at home watching us win the title. My great grandfather lived for most of his life in Bazaar, KS and said that this was one of Knute's most cherished portraits that he showed to people every time they came over to visit.
