Title: So Allen Chapman...
Post by: MakeItRain on November 04, 2012, 10:24:09 PM
What's the verdict, did he have a good game or not?  On one hand he had three picks and a TD, but if Gundy just kept calling slants for Charlie Moore he would have had 400 yards receiving.  Is this the worst performance for a Big 12 POW ever?

How differently would we see it if he hadn't stole Ty's INT?

Snyder acknowledged your point around 3:15 in the postgame: http://www.kstatesports.com/allaccess/?media=348788

Something about pickles.

Doubt Chapman was spending a lot of time celebrating his POW when they watched the film today.

Turnovers are pretty important.  So are touchdowns.  A lot more important than yards. Chapman def. blows coverage and/ or gets beat more than we would like, but at least yesterday, those picks .

Any game with more than 1 INT is a pretty good game, imo.

For the sheer impact of what the turnovers did (gave us 6 pts, end zone pick) I'd say good game. But yes he got burned a lot.

It looked like the fighting perpetual peeking into the backfield with a goofy eye Tibesar's out there . . . a lot.

I mean, did Rocky "win" the fight against Apollo? No, but he went the distance.

You have to take the good with the bad. Chapman made some excellent plays, but after the first INT he seemed overly interested at times in making plays over fitting into the scheme, which leads to mistake in coverage.

To be fair, OSU's passing attack is one of the more complex ones we see and puts more of a bind on the secondary than most other offenses, especially with the threat that Randle is running the ball.

3 Picks and a TD is far more than he gave up and you're kidding yourself if you say otherwise.  Was definitely a good game but, considering the 3 picks/TD, far from a perfect game.

I also think he might be catching some blame for Zimms worst game this year.
