so, it looks like tonight's game is available on KstateHD. Will all KSUBB games be on KStateHD? Will any games be on ESPN3?

Any game on FSN will be on KstateHDTV as well, though some games the web stream will be blacked out in the FSN KC footprint. Basically almost all of the home noncons (one of the NIT games is ESPN3 I think). Emporia State this weekend is only on Kstatehdtv.

:sdeek:
-
gotcha:
FSN = KStateHD
B12 Network (plus an NIT game or 2) = ESPN3
ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU = maybe ESPN3, but definitely not KstateHD
very helpful, thanks. Someone should put this information on kstatesports.com.

Good job kstatehdtv

Also, why did they remove the bramlage dog from the menu?
the quick answer to your question is that the bramlage dog was the megalomaniac of the bramlage concession menu so currie got rid of him. the longer version involves me going into a story that was relayed from popcorn's dad and nacho and cheese to a friend of mines co-worker while they were out to lunch together that later got forwarded to me in a pm. needless to say it was pretty bad but i can't go into any more details about it than that. obviously.

cc, if KState has to take it in the ass a bit in their negotiations in order to keep Omaha from being blacked out of anything I say just do it

Blackout would just be streaming, it would be available on FSNMW. This would be a big improvement over previous years, where for a Tier 3 game K-State was limited to just the state of Kansas and the KC metro area and no streaming at all. Now you'll have FSNMW in multiple states, FCS nationally, and Kstatehdtv globally.

All FSN games have been on ESPN3 for a couple years.
Also, there isn't a "TV" button for any of the non ESPN OOC games and the "watch" button isn't on any of the conference games, smarty-pants.

Granted, Kentucky is a backwoods hicksville of a commonwealth, but FSNMW is showing as blacked out on my circular space talkie Dish.
Thank goodness I can pop my collar and sign in to my premium account on Kstatehdtv.

FSNMW would be: Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana
Tonights game is also on FCS, which should be available nationally.

I'm afraid if I fall in love with the Friendship House Beirock, it will become a megalomaniac as well.

So I'v been thinking about dumping cable, would a combo of kstateHD, espn3, and over the air get me all the away games?
-
last year, just espn3 would have done it.

There was a bit of an uproar when CFB started as ESPN took some of the the games that were on ESPN, ESPN 2 and the U off espn3.com (especially those that used the xbox app). It appeared they were not going to let non-cable/sat subscribers watch the usual TV content. They may have restored this programming to espn3, I am not sure as I haven't used my xbox espn3 app much this year for CFB.

Part of the issue I've noticed is there is a 2 tiered espn stream with espn3 and watchespn. Where verizon, comcast etc seem to be getting more content than Cox or even KSU. The big thing for me are away games. I still need to run an HD antenna to see what kind of reception I get in Manhattan.

you can't get espn3 with time warner unless you're a cable/video customer, just a fwiw

Is there a free stream anywhere for tonights game?

Haven't found one yet

I wasn't aware a jayhawk network existed.
-
it's a crappier version of out network deal
-
kstateHD was absolutely awful. Audio never synced up with video, and of course the "HD" feed looked like dogshit on a tiny 17" screen. I think I preferred the trouble free and money free ESPN3. (ryhmes)

It's a network of Kansas stations that carry KU's three or four annual tier 3 games. It isn't a physical television network.

Michigancat, do you have DirecTV? Back when the FSN games were only available in Kansas it reportedly was possible to get them out of state if you changed your DirecTV billing address to a Kansas address.
I don't know if this would still work, might be an option if Kstatehd doesn't improve

well here in kc you need the Internet to watch espn3, they charge for that here. you also have to buy espn, which they also charge money for
add both of those up and espn3 costs a portion of that sum

you don't need to give a Kansas address. As cc pointed out earlier the games are now on Fox Sports Midwest, as opposed when they used to be on FSKC. Now anyone in the country that gets FS Midwest can watch the Cats. All you have to do is have the sports package.

Hopefully that is the case, especially when the Cats get moved to the alternate channel (673 or whatever) when the Blues are on

i'm just saying for someone that has it all-in for currie getting these new bball tv contracts hammered out with learfield and fsn, i would expect you should be able to describe, in vivid detail, the variances between what we paid to be able to watch ksucats bball last year when frank was here, and what we would have to pay this year to watch them.

Also, MIR, the "other" games in the early rounds of the NIT are in fOOD. Mush.

CC, if I'm getting off a plane in DFW at 7:30 next Friday and want to watch the game, do I have this right that I can either quickly find a place with FCS OR find wi-fi and get on my kstatehd.tv account with my latop? No ipad options?

A slingbox is cheaper than an annual kstatehd account. Also more reliable and less of a hassle.

Well, I've already paid for the kstatehd (which KK and I used game 1 to watch the football game before seeing it was broke and moving on to an illegal foreign distributor). Ideally, we'll promptly find a nice place to eat, pak & watch FCS (correct?), but if you'll have it on your TV and give me the password to watch it via laptop/ipad/whatever, I'd take that as a backup.

Just read the press release better; Friday night's game is excluded from the FCS simulcast. Not expecting kstateo.tv to work. MIR, hook me up. I might buy the slingbox ipad app just to get Friday night's game solidly and easily with wifi or 4g, and then that'd inspire me to get my own slingbox.

I noticed a slingbox "app" when I was writing down everythign I have on my phone before I reset it. Opened it up and it was an ad for slingbox that ended with a proposal of subscribing for $10/month plus $50 deposit and having a slingbox shipped to me. This is like an Aaron's rent-to-own proposition that I want no part of, right?
Looks like the "slingplayer" app is $15 each for ipad and android phone. Probably only need ipad for now, especially with as f'd as my phone is.

I purchased an audio subscription and it has never worked, I've sent three emails to CBS requesting a refund that have apparently been ignored.
