Title: The OFFICIAL Halloween Costume Master Thread
Post by: DQ12 on October 25, 2012, 08:08:04 PM
I hate dressing up for halloween.  I always have grandiose ideas (One year I was going to go as a mime and do hilarious mime stuff all night.  Do stuff like pour keg beer into an invisible "cup," another year, I had plans to dress as a shower a la Karate Kid, etc.), but I never follow through.  Like I said, though, Halloween costumes generally feel like a burden.  I'm finally at the point in my life where I don't feel obligated to dress up or go to any costume parties or anything like that.

What about you guys?!  Any great ideas?

Let's hear'em!

It's a MAJOR hassle once you are married or attached. She will ALWAYS want to be a couples costume. This is extremely difficult because she will always want to be something terrible (raggety ann and andy) instead of awesome (rough ridin' dinosaurs).

D-

1L year Halloween parties are the best thing you can do.  Go all in, if just for this year.  You have known these people for 2 months, if that.  Make a splash and they will remember it for 3 years.  My ghostbusters costume killed.

Holloween is so great.  I went as Dick Cheney's hunting buddy one year.  I have been kicking the Sandusky thing around for awhile.  I'm still not sure how that would go over though.  :dunno:

Some of my foreign friends left crayon costumes they wore to Coachella at my house, so I'll probably go as a crayon at least one night.  I enjoyed going as Waldo one year and creepily photobombing everybody, but man, there were a lot of other Waldos.  Last year I just wore a robe and slippers without any real character in mind.  I'm pretty lazy with costumes.

My dad dressed up as Osama shot in the face last year. Probably the best costume I've ever seen.

I did Publishers Clearing House with a group of people one year. We had it all, check, confetti, balloons, camera man, boom mic. We kept sneaking up behind people to award them the check, great times.

I'm wearing an inside out orange camo shirt and going as Bill Murray.  I think all future costumes may be bill murray related from here on

I have a friend that dressed up as a local highschool cheerleader and his buddy dressed up as a certain local headfootball coach currently being prosecuted for child sex crimes.  This was last year and it was still a hot topic.  We had to fend of quite a few assholes that night.

EDIT:

I went as THE NEEK before THE NEEK was a thing.  Scary Smart was the best LHC LHC Bill Snyder you'll ever see.  I just followed him around with a chord and headphones all night and drank lots of beers.  Was definitely my best Halloween costume ever.
