People obviously over-reacting in hopes they can sue someone for something really f*cking stupid.
Lewis said the 25 or so families in the the theater quickly grabbed their screaming children and headed for the door. "It was only about
two minutes worth of the film but it was enough to scar them for life," she said.

If I took my kids to see a cartoon and some crazy horror movie came on, I'd be pretty pissed, but I'd probably let it go if they gave me a bunch of free movie passes, and like, some card that let me have free popcorn for life.
-
In their defense, those movies are pretty terrible. I was kind of upset about wasting my money on the 1st one.

threads like these show who has kids and who doesn't.
if some jackass teenager that makes minimum wage showed a horror movie instead of a kids movie, I'd be very angry. Stuff like that doesn't happen by accident. Some d-bag kid probably thought it would be funny.

But I think most of us with kids would notice from the first 10 seconds the difference between madagascar 3 and paranormal activity. One being animated and one not.
Someone else in the article's comments brought this up. Certain previews are attached to certain movies, wouldn't someone notice the problem during the previews. It's safe to assume that the previews running before PA are much different than the previews running before Mad3. It's not like they run the previews, swap sources, and run the film.

yes, the preview situation should have been a giveaway. but apparently the first few seconds of paranormal activity are possibly scary, so there isn't a big reaction time available.

LMFAO at people referring to any Paranormal Activity flick as a crazy horror film. JFC. It's not some goddamned gore and monster fest. I could understand if the two minutes had encompassed a bunch of blood-drenched zombies gang-raping and then eating some young co-ed. People and their kids are the rough ridin' worst. If two minutes of any movie scarred your children for life, then they are rough ridin' worthless pussies and you are a terrible parent.

paranormal activity? What did the kids see? A door opening and closing by itself? That's all I rough ridin' saw, shitty ass movie.
-
never seen one. Wouldn't the first few minutes just be really confusing to the youngsters? :dunno:

Anticipation "horror." More startles than scares.
-
Cant remember if the other PA sequel movies started with climactic scenes from the previous movies. I think so. Anyways, IF they did, then maybe I could see parents being pissed. But you gotta know immediately youre in the wrong theatre or something...

If you are a parent who is too dumb to realize what happened before it got to the "scary" part of PA4, then you have already done much worse things to your kid.

Lovejoy's wife. :nerd:

what kind of shithole is still charging first-run prices for Madagascar 3? We took our kid to that 6 weeks ago at the dollar theater.

I know the second one didn't show the ending to the first until the very end cause it was a prequel sort of thing. Haven't seen 3 or 4. And people freaking about because they expect everyone else to raise their kids and they're too fcking stupid to know the difference between Madagascar and Paranormal Activity well, eff them. Odd that OkCat talks all sorts of crap on people who have actually died but wigs out over some kids seeing 2 freaking minutes of a movie like PA... Hell, you could show the kids two minutes of a porno and they're still probably not gonna see anything terrible.
-
1- I didn't realize this was in the UK.
2- Turns out episode 4 starts with the final scene from the original. That was actually kinda scary.

I like Mr Bread more than my own kids.

This. The previews shown before the movie even started are a tipoff. PA4 previews would be for other R rated/scary flicks, whereas Madagscar 3 previews would be for a bunch of animated flicks.

As a kid and as an adult I loved Peanuts, however watching with my three year old leaves me :horrorsurprise: the language they use isn't okay.

Heck my 5 year old tells me he is scared of monsters. I ask him what monsters and he says the ones he saw on Scooby Doo. I tell him to suck it up those monsters are not real. But I'm guessing if he is scared of those what ever was on that screen would do some kids damage.
But I agree probably should have noticed something with the previews.
-
sometimes joke explanations are part of the joke, and Michael keaton cat was a fine example of using an explanation to make the joke.

hey whore, I said for my 3 year old kid. My kid watches Peanuts gets the idea to call someone stupid and then I'm called to daycare because my kid saw your mouthbreathing mutant picking boogers & eating paste and she called a spade a stupid spade. It's a vicious circle so I have to watch peanuts and talk over Lucy when she goes H.A.M. on ol' Chuck.

Your daughter should be commended for calling the stupid kid "stupid." Sounds like the Peanuts helped her be a productive member of society, and a good judge of character.

Hey that's fine MIR. I really just wanted an excuse to call someone a blockhead for probably the first time ever. Felt pretty damn good too. Sorry about your kid at daycare. You should tell them it's all Charles Schulz's fault and walk out doing this:
