Beems is done, forever. He realized he lost the battle and is roaming psychiatric wards.

I don't know if this is more embarrassing for the KU fan that might be a bigger douche than beems, KU or ESPN.

my roommates a ku fan so i was stuck watching it.

when he said "duke is nauseating....they think they are god's gift to basketball", I almost threw up.  He literally drove all over the country trying to validate that ku was indeed god's gift to basketball.

http://www.slate.com/articles/podcasts/hang_up_and_listen/2012/10/the_other_dream_team_broke_9_79_there_s_no_place_like_home_hang_up_and_listen_on_the_mlb_playoffs_and_four_new_sports_documentaries_.html (http://www.slate.com/articles/podcasts/hang_up_and_listen/2012/10/the_other_dream_team_broke_9_79_there_s_no_place_like_home_hang_up_and_listen_on_the_mlb_playoffs_and_four_new_sports_documentaries_.html)

So this is three guys from Slate (no one from Meth U or Silo Tech, they review all the 30 for 30s on their podcasts) discussing "There's No Place Like Home."  The discussion occurs 47:30-56:30.  They completely eviscerate the documentary, the subject of the documentary and ESPN & Bill Simmons for showing it.  They ripped it apart so badly I actually want to see it now.

I'd troll the eff out of the Phog with this but I'm banned because I asked Ta Town Backer if his dad knew he was message boarding on company time.

i think it has broader appeal than i thought it would have. story's pretty interesting.

Quote
Exactly, **** all the other fans. I seen a "The Greatest Tradition in College Basketball" t-shirt the other day. UK. I couldn't believe it, they have no clue

Quote
GOD BLESS JOSH. Your place in heaven is now assured regardless of past sins you may have commited!!! This is the same feeling after watching the Indiana Jones.

Quote
I have never disdained duke like so many others do. I generally feel the media is more to blame for their hype machine than anything. I was certain while watching this that the talk about duke alums bidding was just Josh trying to get people on board. When he showed that duke.grad was the competing bidder I was sick. I am firmly a dook hater from forever now.

Quote
Booth was steel in that auction. Kept putting the pressure on the Dukie by saying why was it taking for so long for him to bid? He was nails.

Quote
I just looked up the Duke grad, David Rubenstein.  Net worth $2.8 billion which is respectable.  Unfortunately he was going up against Mr. Booth who had him almost doubled at $5 billion.  Rubenstein didn't stand a chance.

Quote
I'm not sure that it has really sunk in with the general alumni just how big of a gift that the Booth family has given us (with efforts from Mr Swade, Dr. Allen, and Coach Self). Championships are wonderful... but with time, memories fade. This is a piece of history that will last forever.
I can't really think of a single act that could have had a bigger impact than this.

As an unbiased 3rd party, I can confirm that this 30 for 30 was rough ridin' terrible.

Thanks. When you're watching a come-from-behind win against Hyphenate Louisiana Team on a Tuesday night, airing on ESPN 2 (but not until Guatemalan soccer is over, obviously)... It's nice to be doing it in a fancy new house.

If the ratings for this 30 for 30 suck, it's obviously because our swanky architecture and growing juggernaut football program captivated the eyes and hearts of a sports-watching nation. Big time, baby. Big time.

(It is a pretty sweet facility, though)

I'm not saying don't watch... Just that it sucks. There may be perfectly valid reasons for watching the thing. If you happen to enjoy watching moneyed Kansasans jerking off over a pile of old paper, this is a five star documentary.

Of course, I could probably drop a printout of the Ordinances of Secession on any street corner in the Country Club District and produce an equally compelling film. And I don't think it would take 70 excruciatingly dull and self-indulgent minutes to get to the money shot.

After watching this I have one question.... Since they kept talking about bringing the rules home, when are they sending them to Massachusetts?
