Being every team's Super Bowl can get exhausting, but I'm sure our KSU Cats will be at least looking forward to getting on the field again after this bye week we have coming up.

4 PM Vegas time
if anyone wants me to be one of their farms while I'm there, pm me

I'm sure Gameday will find some way to pimp the Big Ten or SEC, as per usual.
FOX is getting some great games, anyone have any idea what the ratings have been compared to ABC and ESPN night primetime games?
-

College Gameday is in South Bend this weekend
College Gameday has done games in the SEC that have shown on CBS (LSU Alabama, part 1 last year)
The only reason this is even weird this year is this is the first year FOX broadcast has taken primetime slots for College Football games.

Ratings were pretty bad for the OU/KSU game and previous big Fox games compared to the big boys. Not sure how last weekend went yet.

The ratting are crap right now. People are use to ABC or CBS for football games at primetime. FOX is just skipped over most of the time. Will take a year or 2 for it to get into people's rotations.
-
FOX needs to start their own gameday thing
-
This sucks. It won't get much better for gameday. They passed on the Big 12 Championship game. Smh.
-
FOX needs to start their own gameday thing
They need to work with what they have. That pre-game and halftime show they have with Erin Andrews, Joey Harrington, and Eddie George is unwatchable. Erin Andrews trying to be sassy... :barf:

I don't mind Andrews so much as Harrington. He is terrible. Trying to make jokes that by anyone's definition are never funny and Eddie George has to pretend to laugh when inside his head he just wants to punch Joey in the face.
-
According to gents on WVU site, the ratings have been pretty good not counting OU/ksu.

I don't buy that. Who just says: "It's Saturday, what channel has the college football game?"
-
Notre Dame/Michigan and Clemson/Notre Dame are both huge games. I think a lot of people just assumed OU would blow us out and decided to watch the games on other networks.

I think you would be surprised how often this happens in the high pop areas of the northeast and in major cities of people with no team alignment. People also don't just stay on one game, they rotate thru out the day during halftime and commercials. FX and FOX carrying games are just not getting pickup by these fans.

The Big 12 is going to look really bad if WVU stumbles in Lubbock.
-
So.....probably no Gameday since it's on FOX?
LOL, take it to the "Gopowercat Thread Titles" thread.
-
so is this 6pm kickoff or 6pm pre-game like KSU/OU?

TTU helped screw up our Undefeated streak last year, when they beat OU so why not now.
-
I'm really surprised this game isn't on ABC or ESPN. Kinda weird that we haven't had one game on an ESPN network yet.

jfc, we're on a rough ridin' network in prime time for the second of three times this year. what more do you losers want?
-
I prefer Fox. Everything about it, from Gus Johnson to the football robot dude, is just awesome.

Want more than what? A prime time nationally televised game on network tv with Gus Johnson doing the play by play is as good as it gets.
-
Notre Dame/Michigan and Clemson/Notre Dame are both huge games. I think a lot of people just assumed OU would blow us out and decided to watch the games on other networks.
Also the fact that Notre Dame was the first school to ever play 2 games at the same time also probably drew in some viewers.

West Virginia is coming off one of their biggest road wins in history. They are looking at a nationally televised game with two top 5 teams in Morgantown next week. Their QB is the runaway leader for the Heisman.
But this week they have to travel to the armpit of west Texas and face a team that didn't even make a bowl game last year.
The Vegas line is only WVU -4.5.
If Tech wins, it's not much of an upset.
-
If Tech wins, it's not much of an upset.
:dubious:
-
WVU has been playing in the Big East. They are not used to playing a "bad" team that is as good as Tech, and they have to go on the road to do it, right after beating Texas, and right before playing a top 5 K-State. I could see that upset happening. I would rather they win big, and they probably will, but I could see it happening.

Time Net Show 18-49 Rating/Sh Viewers (millions)
8:00 ABC College Football: Nebraska at Ohio State (8-11PM) -Live 1.4/5 4.95
FOX College Football West Virginia at Texas (8-10PM) - Live 1.3/4 4.07
NBC College Football: Miami at Notre Dame (8-11PM) - Live 1.1/3 3.50
CBS Made In Jersey - R 0.5/2 2.75
If both KSU & WVU come in next week undefeated then the ratings will be good. But I agree that some college football fans might forget that there have been prime-time games on FOX.
-
will probably take people some time to figure out that fox is showing night games. if the conference stays good and fox continues to get these great matchups in primetime, it will become a "go-to" channel for cfb fans who channel surf to check.
-
so is this 6pm kickoff or 6pm pre-game like KSU/OU?
6pm kickoff, so 6:05 kickoff

Yeah, I forgot to check Fox Saturday afternoon for games. They had a great Stanford-UA game before UT WVU.
And beating ND-Miami is a really nice start.

Yeah, I meant to quote ell, not you. My bad. I want gameday and primetime ESPN.

Gameday is awful.

I don't want gameday on the road.

well, the game in OK started at about 7 local time
seems like the game in WV would probably start around 7 local time too

This talking point has been beaten to death, and I am so sick of it. WV looks focused on dominating their conference. Their HC knows Lubbock. I don't see a let down coming. If there is one, maybe after they play OU, but that will have nothing to do with them being in a better conference, and everything to do with their having played 3 top 10 teams in one season. That type of schedule is conducive to a let down for any team. If Alabama played Florida, SC, and LSU within about a month span, the next opponent would not be getting Alabama at 100%.
-
I can't see them beating OU. I think OU is the best team in this conference.
-
Wasn't the OU game at 6:50? Why are the 6pm now?
On Saturdays where they only show 1 game, they put it at 6:50 pm cst so it can be in primetime. On days where they have a doubleheader, the first game is at 2:00 pm cst, then they have a bridge show, then the second game is at 6:00 pm cst so they don't lose those viewers and have to fill in an additional 50 minutes.
On 10/20, they will have Stanford/Cal at 2:00pm cst, then the bridge show, then the KSU/WVU game at 6:00pm cst.
-

I think everybody would agree the 4 best teams in the conference are (in no particular order) KSU, WVU, UT, OU
so after they all play each other, we will know, but OU is the not the right answer at this point.
OU has played 1 of the other 3 best teams, at home, and lost.
UT has played 1 of the other 3 best teams, at home, and lost.
KSU has played 1 of the other 3 best teams, on the road, and won.
WVU has played 1 of the other 3 best teams, on the road, and won.
-
We all watched that OU game. KSU had to play their very best to beat them...and OU needed to make a few mistakes.
OU is really good. And there will not be a rematch.
:cheese:

KSU did not play particularly well on offense.

Calm down tard. I didn't say I wanted anything more. Just making an observation.

The reason the OU game kicked off at 6:50 was because of the MLB games that afternoon.
also Ira Hayes is a rough ridin' crap poster
-
Bump.
Not much of an upset. OU is the best team in the conference.
There will not be a rematch.

GFA and Ira both with good calls in this thread
