Title: dear student section (re: ku game)
Post by: wes mantooth on October 02, 2012, 11:47:46 AM
I know Charles Wise will be sitting very closely to you Saturday on his cooler.  It may be tempting to say things that aren't very nice to him.  But we/you are better than that.  Nothing will happen to you except maybe make a few girls laugh, but please refrain.  Thanks.

So does this mean I can't show up to the game in a Hoveround?

Geez, can they go to parties after the game or would you forbid that, too.
Low-hanging fruit, target of opportunity, etc.

Students, you may feel the urge to throw quarters at the KU bench. You may even feel the urge to mock Chuck and Dain when they're down by 40. But is the laughter you'll create with your emaw bro's and studliness that will permeate from you towards the women around you worth it?

Ya students, even though your friends will think you're cool and there's no way you could get in trouble you should resist the temptation to start an "HOW'S OUR TAINT TASTE CHARLIE" chant.  Even though it'd be pretty hilarious.

When Sams comes in and runs for multiple touchdowns, DO NOT chant "Life is beating you down"

yeah, let's be the bigger people and not attach food to fishing poles and hang them out in front of chuck like you are tempting him.  Sure, it's hilarious and everyone will laugh, and you'll probably even be seen on regional television....but is it really worth it?

DO NOT THROW LIVE CHICKENS ON THE FIELD!

Students, we realize that besides an epic match-up with "The U", this year's home schedule has been filled with FCS and mid-major level competition and unfortunately our next game isn't much different. We acknowledge that this week does not provide a big rivalry game like CTR or a prime time match-up with one of the many Top 25 Big 12 teams, but please, at least stay until halftime. It can get boring once the KSU Cats get up by 4-5 TDs (or more), but please stick it out for EMAW.

TIA.

That's whats wrong with kids these days, it's all about getting on TV.  I just ask, at the end of the game, instead of chanting "eff KU" please just chant "good effort KU"

Guys, these threads always make me nervous. What if KU somehow pulls off the upset and we look like idiots for saying all this stuff?

 Just kidding. Go cats.

Dear students as tempting as it might be, please do not just throw Dr. Pepper cans on the field once the game is hand (approx. 14:45 1st Quarter). Somebody could get hurt. As excited as we might be for the world champion cats, please wait until our team is out of harms way and aim small miss small.*

If you see some KU student walking around the parking lot looking like a complete bad person in KU clothes please do not tie him to the hitch of your Ford F350 Super Duty Powerstroke Diesel and drag him around the sheep lot and pig lot and cow lot and wheat lot and corn lot and sheep lot the entire game and then cut him loose but only after you tie him to a tree with bees all over him and rattlesnakes all over the ground and you force him to drink poison all night long.

It's actually national television, and that would be hilarious. But you would probably feel bad about it later when your fellow students are treating you like a hero for years. In the end, it's just not worth feeling bad.

I gotta say, chanting "Mountain West" sounds totally badass and would really be funny but do you just have to be the funny badass every day of your lfie?  Really?

Whatever you do this Saturday do not mess with any House Divided license plates.  This only gets older people angry and it's not very cool to get older people angry.  I read this in a magazine once.

why would a scrimmage with a wac team be on national tv?  seems weird.

Apparently Charlie saw the 2002 (?) game film and felt like taking QB knock-out hits needed to be something they should prep for.

You know how your mom would say "look after your little brother" when she left you alone and went to the store, and then you'd pick on him and torment him the entire time?  And even though you got in trouble, deep down you knew it was hilarious and totally worth it, and you weren't sorry even though your mom said to say you were.

Don't be like that.
