Title: Mike Stoops
Post by: Fill My Bill on September 23, 2012, 02:36:37 AM
On his evaluation of the defense versus Kansas State's offense:
"We were fighting all night to get them in an uncomfortable situation. I thought they played the game at their tempo most of the night. They know how to play and we just couldn't get control of the game the way we wanted to. Their offense is very sophisticated, way beyond the normal eye could ever imagine. I think that is what makes them great. Maybe not in the media's eyes, but in coaching eyes they are very sophisticated. They are very persistent and they execute very well and that makes them who they are. It is hard to beat a top-10 or -15 team and that is what they are. They are very complete."

Yes. More than the eye could ever imagine.

Landry Pussyface had this to say
On if OU can still make it to the national championship game:
"Yeah, I mean typically every year there's a one-loss team in the championship game, BOTH BIG 12 and the national championship. So it's still out in front of us. Definitely going to be tough if we lose another one, that's for sure. But we're going to regroup."
Ain't no more Big 12 championship game dumbass

One of Thompson's third down catches was as simple as it gets. (The one with trips left where the two outside guys ran to the middle and the inside guy ran to the outside.) I mean, I remember running that play in high school.

looked like the defender on Thompson thought they were going to switch the man assignment on the cross and the guy on the middle receiver didn't. Poor communication / understanding of responsibilities

But I bet you didn't make an awesome catch and stay on your feet for the first down. :nono:

I think the variety of blocking schemes out of the same formation is what really fracks the other team. The other team gets it into their head that they know what's coming...but they totally don't  :gocho:

I really liked the play where we pulled weak side left to right, and then handed off to Hubes going left . . . totally using OU's flow and attacking our blockers at the line of scrimmage against them.

Schemed.

We cheesed over that one pretty hard as well. A well-timed and executed false pull can put tears in my eyes.
