(ku obvs)
man what a tough schedule left. I don't think we've ever had as tough a conference schedule. Finishing 5-4 would be very good.
-
loser mentality
-
loser mentality
in what way? (if you're just being a idiot troll who doesn't want a halfway intelligent conversation about ksu football let me know now so I don't waste my time "debating" with you).

being satisfied with anything less than perfection is a loser mentality. we went 10-2 last year, and could have been 11-1. Why is everyone so quick to accept an 8-4 alamo bowl berth

if you can't bother to read or have the ability understand topics stay out of them

Who are the losses? @OU, @WVU? Maybe UT, @TCU (although I think we can get that one)
I see Tech as a gimmie.

That is a dumb talking point.

i recognize there are several losable games, but when you say "5-4 would be good" then it's a loser mentality. Im not disagreeing that KSU could lose 4 games, but you still hope for the best

Every game is losable. north texas was losable. any time you step on the field the game is losable. the thing is every game is winnable to. there isn't a single team in the Big 12 i look at and say "we can't beat them".
I think we slip up against OU or Texas.

I see ku as a gimmie the rest as 50-50, with maybe more likely to lose OU, TU and WV. Its a rough ridin' though league man. Can we win them all? Sure we can, but it's not a step back as program if we don't. Going 5-4 would probably mean beating more top 25 teams in a season than KSU ever has. That's amazing.
-
Agreed chings, it's a monster. Agree that 5-4 would be good. Really hoping for 7-2.
-
We will need a ton of "breaks" for 7-2 though. Texas looks fantastic.
-
7-2 would be darn good.
6-3 acceptable, still happy.
5-4 disappointing, but okay.
4-5 or worse, very upset.
-
7-2 would probably mean KSU has beaten more ranked teams in one season than it ever has before (maybe even TWICE as many!) I mean it would incredible.
-
@ Iowa State scares me. Like more than @ TCU.
-
When Brown was on the bench yesterday, 4-5 in the remaining games looked very possible, hope that bullet was dodged.
-
I'm not that worried about ISU because their coach is a career loser.
-
We will need a ton of "breaks" for 7-2 though. Texas looks fantastic.
I think Ash was taking advantage of horrendous pass defense. A number of his deep balls were under thrown and Ole Miss defenders made miserable adjustments. Zimm/Malone would of ended up with a couple picks in that game (the rest of our secondary may be just as bad)
-
If we manage to stay healthy I see us going 7-2 or 8-1 the rest of the way. Obviously A few key injuries could derail this thing with our lack of depth.
-
In case anyone cares, it seems the most ranked teams we have beat in a regular season is 3. (1998)
-

I care.
-
So TCU, WVU TX possibly OSU or Baylor ?
-
If the team finishes 10-2 this year it will (most likely) be the best team LHC Bill Snyder has ever coached. Yes even better than 1998 or 2003 teams.
Hell finishing 9-3 might be better too, depending on who we beat.
-
so do we lose one we shouldn't and win won we shouldn't, I say probably

Good stuff in this thread Chingon.

Is that using teams that were ranked after the season, or ranked when we actually played them?

good point, my source says at the time of the game. Don't think it will be much different for end of the year though. Might be worse even.

_fan knocking it out of the park in this thread.

My favorite part is that he is ksu_FAN. So simple. So beautiful.

So, would you call 1997 Snyder's best team ever?

Maybe, they beat only 2 ranked teams in the regular season though (MU and A&M both in the 20s at the end of the year).

:blah:

Tcu looked like retards. Not afraid @ TCU

I can't see UT as a loss. They could be fielding their best team ever and I physically could not admit to the possibility of losing to UT at this point.
TCU seems like a winnable game. OU and WVU are super scary.
I agree on Tech.
-
ku 2006 and 2007 regular seasons 1 game against a Final Top 25 team is a fantasy we're never going to get to live.
-
(ku obvs)

I agree, this is a crazy tough schedule....would be pleased with 5-4, and any else is gravy.
Kansas = win
Iowa St., Tech, OSU, TCU, Baylor = 3 wins
#6 OU, #8 WVU, #12 Texas = 1 win
5-4; imo would be :emawkid:
-
God damn guys, I am just not ready to :emawkid: to an 8-4 season. Ok State at home, and Baylor on the road are easier games this year than Ok State on the road and Baylor at home were last year, TCU is not scary, we aren't losing to Tech at home, and we own texas. @WVU, @OU will probably be beat downs but c'mon guys. 9-3 should be the threshold to be happy. GTFOOH with 8-4 fist pumps
-
ku, osu, Baylor, ttech, isu, tcu are all gimmes. Not sure on wvu or ut yet. OU is always good.
-

Yes. I think they are good. better than OSU and TCU.

Welp, that's all I needed to confirm you are chingon's sock
-
9-3 might win the conference, tbh
-
You can't really think 60~70% of the conference is gimmes and that the Big XII is a good conference. That is if you like to think logically.

Good post.
-
i'm not sold on wv being a complete loss yet. need to wait and see them play against better competition...defense might be sketchy.
@ou is a loss. texas and west virginia are probably 65/35 in their favor. osu/baylor/tech/isu/tcu seem like 60/40 in emaw's favor.
-
Regardless of strength of schedule, anything less than 9 wins this season would be incredibly disappointing to me after what happened last season. I would want Bill fired for 7 wins.
-
Can't wait to bump this in a week after we steamroll the sooners

Why? What would that be "showing me"?

eff yeah omg yes!
-
if we steamroll the sooners i'm pretty sure I wouldn't give a eff about anything in the world. would drop all of my classes, kick back and enjoy the ride or prepare for the second biggest KITN of all time when we lose to Iowa State
-
Warm up your steamrollers!
-
What are you going to do after you drop out of school?

Sit in my living room and watch ESPNU drop tears of joy on our nutsacks

when you're building for the long-term, you can't go backwards. 10-2 is the baseline of success, anything less would be very disappointing.
-
Lots of great "why we'll beat Texas" logic in this thread.
-

why do you think we'll beat texas, smart guy?
-
We always beat UT. OU always beats us. Anyone who goes against these truths is outrageous!
-
0 games we should absolutely expect to lose. 1st time I've said that since 2003. (I absolutely expected to lose in Stillwater last year)
-
And we were absolutely in that game last year...
-
i'm not sold on wv being a complete loss yet. need to wait and see them play against better competition...defense might be sketchy.
I find this absolutely shocking.

@ Waco is a gimme? Bold.
-
WVU looks to be a beast of a team. TX might have their best team since Vince young was there.
OU looks overrated but still very tough. I think they are anywhere between the 3rd-5th best team in the conference. I don't think we can win without A. Brown.
BU, TTech, ISU, TCU and OSU all look very good. Any could end up being a loss this year its hard to tell with the quality of competition that they have played.
KU might be a 50 point win
I'll be very happy to finish top 3 again but it will be tough. No one will go undefeated. Away at WVU really stinks this year.
-
TX might have their best team since Vince young was there.
Remember when Texas went to the national championship game a few years ago?
Oh, you don't?
Well Texas went to the national championship game a few years ago, just fyi.

Maybe he means this Texas team is better than that one :horrorsurprise:
But that Texas team was invalid since they didn't have to play us.
-
Ash put up numbers against a crap secondary. His throws were terrible and Ole Miss was even worse in not adjusting properly. Ash may end up being servicable this year if he doesn't turn it over (an improvement over last) but he is by no means good. He will be exposed yet in the Big 12
-
TX might have their best team since Vince young was there.
No.
They haven't played anyone with a pulse yet.
New Mexico and Wyoming are winless against FBS competition (and Wyoming lost to Cal-Poly), and Mississippi may go winless in the SEC.
Our wins thus far are more impressive than theirs.
-
In regards to UT/KSU, remember, we get them at home in December.
Texas doesn't play well north of the Mason/Dixon in December.
-

This is wrong on at least 3 different levels.
