So I have some land that I do a little hunting on and let friends hunt on, just a place to get away and cut firewood, shoot the hullabaloo, do man stuff. I have some trail cameras out there that my nephews run and like I said, nothing to serious just a place to mess around.
Here's the problem and I need to know how it should be handled or how you would handle it. On Sunday some punks stole both trail cameras. They were on 2- 4 wheelers and on a dirtbike. From the size of the tires I can tell the dirt bike is probably a smaller kids size and don't know much about the 4 wheelers except that from the look of the tires ones probably a 2 stroke because it had sand tires on it. Well I have been know to track a dog back to the liter as I'm probably the only non indian indian tracker in Kansas. I tracked these 3 dumbasses back to a gate that is directly 2 miles from my property. Of course the gate was locked and there's no house there but it's obviously a rec. place that I'm guessing their family uses. How should I go about handling this? I'm guessing the 2 kids were out joy riding and going in and out of land illegally when they ran across the trail cameras. They didn't take the feeder that was there as I'm guessing if they brought that home to Pa he would whip their ass. Should I find this guys number and call him? Should I contact fish and game? Call the sheriff? Shoot up his gate and cut his lock? Burn down his pasture? I'm really pissed about this and have been known to have fits of uncontrolable rage when dealing with thiefs........any advice would be good as I don't want to go to jail at such a young age...

throw a brick through their window.

really though, if i'm being honest, we need pictures of the property to properly determine the best way to vandalize it.

Go out and buy a whole shitload of porno mags and string them along to an old abandoned shed on your property. Those punk kids won't be able to resist the string of poon and will try to steal your stash. They will follow the trail into your shed which they will think is loaded with hot porn. What they will find is you sitting on a stool waiting to deliver swift judgement to those punk ass thieving kids. Problem solved.

Get a gate you poor slob.

Trim is just asking in a round about way if we want to judge pak. We could test out the traps on the most crafty/pak'd emaw. :dunno:

Oh, well in that case, we should come up with some kind of signal for when we follow the poon over to Trim's shed. We wouldn't want to be judged erroneously.

Hmmm, what would the signal be? I was kind of wanting to electrify random objects. Incapacitate not annihilate.

Track down their Pa, give him a call and explain your Native Americanesque tracking abilities. If he seems meh, threaten to call the sheriff.
Post a crap-ton of "No Trespassing" signs and hide some 2 x 4s with finishing nails in them on the road/trail to recoup your costs when they trespass again.
Had a relative who put like 25 padlocks and log chains around a guy's gate to his house that wouldn't confront his kid about popping some rounds off on his land. His kid was over the next day.

That is some serious judging.

Yep.

How much was/were the game camera(s)?
-
judge not, lest ye be judged
-
Probably those teens were doing something heinous then realized their acts may have been caught by the trail cams and had to destroy them.
-
Call crime stoppers and or burn down their house/land.

Case closed!

OT--SHOCKING new developments on my delima...... Reply
A new delima that I'm guessing will end up involving the cops. Here it goes.
So I take 2 of my workers out to the land today in the afternoon, I'm setting new telephone poles for gates and working on my pond area. So we are all done for the day at about 6pm and 1 of my workers finds a cell phone about 10 ft onto my property with 4 wheeler tracks all around it, the same 4 wheeler tracks that led to my stolen trail camera positions. Anyway, I charge the phone and the damn thing works, it has been cancelled but I can still read her texts and phone calls. After awhile I figure out through the texts that this "girl" was out at the "pond" with her mom. I dial up her mom and tell her I found her daughters phone, she procedes to tell me how they lost it Sunday and have been looking for it non stop since and that she probably dropped it when she was out riding the 4 wheeler after I give her the found location.
After she spills the beans I in a very nice manner tell her the rest of the story and that there is dirt bike tracks and 4 wheeler tracks all over my property and that I found the phone by where my trail cams used to be. She then tells me "oh we only had 1 4 wheeler out there. Anyway the land she is on is a farmers that lets her family go down there from time to time and she's not the owner. I clearly saw that this 4 wheeler and dirt bike were together and saw tracks leading into/through the farmers gate. Now I'm confused why would this mom say there wasn't a dirt bike with them, that would be a fast cover up in my books and she shot it to me on the fly. Could it be possible that this girl saw other tracks and drove onto my property 10 ft and made a last text at 8:10 pm right before she lost her phone? It's pretty damn dark at 8:10 pm so I'm guessing they went back under the cover of night to get my cameras after spotting them earlier in the day. The plot thickens....

I called the mom back after she was able to talk to the daughter and of course her tone had changed, she was super nice and said she was on the way to the girls house and that she was pissed and would get to the bottom of the situation and to call back in 1 hour. I call her back and she has the trail cameras. She said that she told her daughter about how nice I was being and that the daughter could go to jail if I called the cops and basically she caved.
The lady told me that she let the daughter bring along a male friend for the first time ever and that she didn't raise her daughter to be this way and that to keep her number and nothing like this will ever happen again on her watch. She said the friend would never come back. She said they fish at the pond occasionally but that it's usually just her and her 31 year old disabled son to go out and fish on the dock. So if you can believe it I'm actually going to get the 2 cameras back. I'm glad I didn't call the cops because if momma really has a disabled son and this farmer lets them fish out there I guarantee he would never let them back. Hopefully this scares the girl straight and the boy isn't from around there so I'm guessing he couldn't find the place again.....that is all...

I've always had a soft spot for moms and their 31 year old disabled sons.

Sounds like this is the last you'll see of the daughter's "male friend". Good riddance.

What was the poster's name before you changed it to Trim, wabash909? I'm about 99.9% sure that Trim wouldn't spell dilemma d-e-l-i-m-a. Just doesn't add up, something is fishy around here.

i'm glad to see everything worked out and that we didn't have to resort to vandalism.
