In a huge (not) surprise, yet another ku athlete got wasted and took to the roadways only to be arrested for breaking the law. This guy is obviously an alcoholic so I give him a little sympathy but geez, that school is just a haven for addiction and thugs.
LAWRENCE -- KU junior long snapper Justin Carnes was suspended for three games following his arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence on early Saturday morning in Lawrence.
Jayhawks football coach Charlie Weis said Carnes’ suspension was for a “violation of team rules.”
“As I have previously stated, every player on our team knows and understands our rules and regulations,” Weis said in a statement. “They also know the consequences for violations of those rules and regulations.”
Carnes, 21 and a native of La Porte, Texas, was recently elevated from walk-on status and given a scholarship. He entered the season as the starting long snapper after serving in that role during field goals and extra points in 10 games last season. According to Douglas County sheriff’s records, Carnes was released on $500 bond.
KU running back James Sims was suspended three games after being arrested for the same charge in April. Sims entered into a one-year diversion agreement in May.

This is why my kid is going to BYU!
-
Damn. Maybe they will be really good this year. Weis is better than I thought.
-
When will it end? By "it" I mean J-Hack players binge drinking to excess and endangering other motorists on our shared roadways. They're like loaded guns out there. Just waiting to go off. Tragic.

If he lets "whiskey mouth" Simms start we will see it's just business as usual at Addict U.

remember when turner gill tried to get these people to stop abusing drugs and alcohol and he was openly mocked by the entire institution?
-
The J in J-hawk stands for Junk, btw. Sad.
-
What a zoo, over there. A once proud institution is being pissed on by Charlie Weiss. They're in the AAU for crying out loud.
-
T's and P's to all families involved.
-
Turner gill was trying to clean that place up but "no!" they said. " we'll lose with someone else and keep the wreckless booze driving thank you"
-
Poor guy. Clearly the agony of not living in a true college town got to him. He was tricked. Lied to. He left all his friends and family in Texas so he could go to a commuter college not unlike Mid American Nazarene, or Avila. I would have done the same thing.

kims brother I presume?
-
Do you guys think he was drinking mouthwash or aftershave to get his buzz?

KU definitely has more athletes in trouble with the law than any other conference school.
