Never sat there. I kind of want to sit there but i've heard mixed reviews. Seems like better seats than the bowl and the corners of the bowl, but what about sound and crowd noise and stuff like that?
Please hurry the eff up and respond so I can buy some tickets. TIA.
-
not better seats than bowl or corner of bowl

Thanks. See I've never sat in the bowl area either. More opinions please. TIA.
-
It's awful.
EDIT: You've now expanded your search to bowl also. Also awful. Find a way to get in the student section for as long as you can.
-
Thought the upper section was only for Wamego townies.
-
south endzone isn't bad but not great when the ball is on the north side of the field, have to turn around to see the jumbotron because the north endzone "jumbo"tron is impossibly to see. Upperdeck is prob better view of the whole field, but lacks atmosphere and sound would be my guess

Well that's the problem. I don't hardly know anyone in Manhattan anymore and the few that I do know are too poor to go buy a ticket so I can pay them back. So I'm not really sure how else to do it.

Had tickets in the south end zone for a number of years. Not bad at all. I would say you want to be in around row 30 or something. If you get right on the field, it would be awesome for td's in the end zone and all, but it would suck past the 30 yard line. In row 30 or so, it really only starts to suck at about the opposite 20 yard line.
I sat in the upper deck (about 10 rows from the top) for a game it just sucked. I remember thinking it sucked, even though I was wasted.
-
center sections of the upper deck isn't bad. as long as you aren't at the very top then its too far to see anything and too windy to hear anything
-
It's scary in the upper deck

You are probably right. I guess the first several rows are probably pretty good. Will get even better once the stadium renovations are complete to help make you feel like you are part of the stadium.
-

Confirmed. A few years back I was buying tickets from a bud who lived in Wamego at the time and was surrounded by a bunch of people who were raving about Tim Reyer.
-
Went ahead and pulled the trigger on Section 17. Thank you goEMAW for your help.
edit: The Miami game is basically sold out

good decision

Upper Level . . . Great place to sit, sat on the 50 yard line for years.
Never listen to the Too Cool for Schoolers on this board . . . never.

Upper deck is great as long as you're not at the very top. Hate the student section now. Love sitting for almost the entire game.
-
I've sat in the upper deck for a game or two.
Pros:
The view was great.
Cons:
No atmosphere...very quiet.
Wind (okay, so there is atmosphere)
Stairs
Much prefer the NEZ personally

There were almost entirely "at the very top" tickets left. It was a no brainer imo.
-
edit: The Miami game is basically sold out
false...the only game with more seats available is the Texas Tech game.
-
as everyone said...windy. oh man it's windy up there. horrible for the one game i sat up there. i hated it.
-
i sat in the upper deck at the ou game last year and got into a verbal fistacuffs with some tucks who didn't want me to stand up.
-
IT WAS WINDY AND SCARY WHEN I WAS UP THERE TOO! :runaway:
-
hmm...wasn't windy at all when I was up there. Are you guys sure it was wind or maybe you are just Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) or something? Not sure.
-
Man oh man, wind at an outdoor football stadium.
-
Our kids like the NEZ because they can high five the crap out of the players when they are coming onto/off of the field.
-
upper deck is garbage
-
upper deck is garbage
you must be a too cool for schooler guy
-
Great place to see a game.
South or North Endzone . . . (except if tickets are free)
-
beware the south endzone seats that behind the goal post. A friend had season tickets there and looking over or under the cross bar was annoying.
-

Yeah, you'd think they were in Kansas or something with all this wind
-
the best place to watch a football game is at Ricky's in San Leandro along with Elwood and other great k-staters.
When I go to a game in person, I want to go to a parking lot, get pak'd, wabash, taunt adjacent Missouri State fans, and yell when we're on defense. Not sit in the wind with my gun club radio headphones and make drive charts and admire how well I can see the formations like I'm del miller.
-

I'll be damned you're probably right. The "pick your seat" thing only shows the bleachers, section 17 and upper deck that has any seats left. Probably less that 1000 left though.

great post
-
Had row 1 tickets in 425 for 2 years, fantastic seats. Never sat anywhere else up there and endzone seats suck a dick,
-
I have sat upper deck 2-3 times in my life. One game it was so out of control windy I thought we were going to be blown away.
-
Upper Level: Fantastic View of the Game . . . easy to get to (unless you're fat and lazy), not many people doing drive charts or wearing "gun club" headphones. You can't pak if you sit in the upper level?
Take it from me kids, sitting on the 50 yard line about about 1/3 of the way up on the upper level is a great way to watch a game.
South and North Endzone . . . blows.
-
Last time or two on the lower level . . . weather delays. Weather DELAYS
-
Upper level people are my kind of fans. Nobody ever tells everyone around to yell, nobody stands in front of me, no one screaming inane things in my ear all game about play calling or whatever. Just a bunch of people relaxing on a fall afternoon enjoying some football.

I once sat next to some relative of Mark Simoneau on the upper deck. She talked about it all game.

Sounds great! Almost as great as opening the windows next to my couch and enjoying the game w/ Gus Johnson.
-
I had season tickets in Sec 425 for a couple of years before moving down to section 23 on the lower east sideline.
Upper Deck thoughts:
- the viewing angle is similar to what you get when watching a game on TV
- the atmosphere is very relaxed. Everyone sits, few people make noise. Lots of little kids.
- completely disassociated with the stadium atmosphere. Can't hear the band, the cheerleaders, the students, etc.
I much prefer my seats in the lower level. No contest. If I hadn't switched seat locations, I probably would have ended up giving up the tickets completely when the Ron Prince experiement was going on. I can get the same kind of atmosphere as the upper deck while sitting in a bar or on my couch. With a lot of bad football on the field, there would have been no point in keeping my seats in the upper deck. But because I was in the lower level where there is energy and excitment, I kept my seats and now I'm glad I did.
-
Will agree with cRustyMicMichiCat . . . that watching the game on the HD Big Screen is probably the best seat of all.
But if I had to choose Endzone or Upper Level . . . with a few exceptions, I'd take upper level every time.
-
I just don't know who to believe anymore. Maybe I'll take upper deck for the KU game since it will be over by half time. Have nothing to lose at that point.

Of course you would, gramps.

I want to be angry and I want to be around loud angry people that are drunk and just ate a bunch of cheese burgers and carrots and ranch.

you guys just know that the new manager is going to turn them back on full beams again don't you?
-
East upper deck that Zero U copied is by far more unelite. It's like watching the game from blimp mode.
-
Upper deck is something everyone needs to experience.
-
I sat there for a game against UNT 2001. For awhile I thought it was kind of neat because of the view and you could really see plays develop. That is the only saving grace though and even that got old quick.
No crowd noise.
Too windy.
You can't really even see the student section.
Pass plays are horrible to watch.
It's the worst.
-
It's awful.
EDIT: You've now expanded your search to bowl also. Also awful. Find a way to get in the student section for as long as you can.

My God man, you know more people in Manhattan than you realize. You're a pretty well-known poster on goEMAW.com. That itself should find you some student tix pretty fast. If not that seats tomost games with goEMAWers.
Edit: Just saw you got some Tix.
What I said above still goes. Look here first I'm sure someone can help you out.

My family had season tickets in the second row of the upper deck, just above the student section on about the 30 yard line. They were incredible. Terrific views (directly across from Snyder's box seats during the Prince years), just above the student section so you really felt in the mix.
The nosebleeds in the corners have to be just horrible though.
