Title: Foods (and liquids) you don't like, but wish you did.
Post by: star seed 7 on August 12, 2012, 04:23:11 PM
I'm a very picky eater so this list could go on forever with me, so I'll just start with top two.

1.  Beer.  I can't stand beer, but it's so deep into social interactions that it makes me wish I liked it instead of being the nerd that doesn't like beer.

2.  Ranch dressing.  It's so disgusting that I can barely be next to someone eating it on a salad, but people seem to love it so I wish I liked it.

i don't like mint and it really bothers me. mint is synonymous with freshness and it seems that many good smelling people like it. maybe someday.

Not a big fan of the dressing, but I like the dry seasoning that you can use to make the dressing.  Pretty good on chicken or fish or popcorn just used as a seasoning.

Ketchup and mustard. Don't care for either, extremely so in the case of ketchup. Mostly just want to make ordering hamburgers easier. Also don't like mayo on burgers/sandwiches, so I guess throw that in there, too.

mushrooms: smell terrible when cooked, look worse, taste pretty damned awful which I think is my response in daris' other thread.
If not mushrooms, then I probably mentioned that ugly pizza dipping sauce at old shawnee pizza that is pink or green colored and is basically mayonnaise.  Hope this helps.

I hear ya on this one.  I eat burgers/sands with only meat and cheese.  Gives about 82 percent chance of the place getting it wrong.

Me as well but mustard is much worse for me.  Overpowers almost any food.  Terrible

Jalapenos. I love spicy food, and many hot peppers, but I don't like the flavor of Jalapenos at all, especially the pickled ones.  Pickled anything is pretty gross.

Mustard. Yuck, but it comes standard on lots of burgers and sandwiches, so it would be convenient to like.

I also wish I just loved tons of vegetables so it would be easier to eat healthy.

I can barely eat a McDonald's burger that has had pickles on it at any time.  The juice that gets in the bun is too gross.

I find ordering a plain cheeseburger is usually fine, but I like lettuce and tomato and stuff, and if you order "no ketchup/mustard/mayo(looking at you, Wendy's)" then they eff it up more often than not.

I learned why when I was working at Arby's, though. There's basically one button press in the system for plain, but if you specify just certain ingredients it takes longer to input, and the burger/sandwich was already up on the screen for long enough to start making it. I assume most other fast food places are similar.

yeah, pickles are the most infecting food ever.  i won't eat anything they touch.  really sucks when a place puts a big pickle on the plate and then the juice runs all over the plate and the the bottom of the bun and all the fries are infected and then you just have to only eat half the stuff.

This except the hot kind.  Would love to be able to walk around at work with that tag string hanging out of my mug.  People would be like "what are you drinking?"  and I would say "tea, early grey, hot."

Coleslaw. Its lack of taste doesn't justify the slimy texture.

I can't stay away, though. I try it once a year or so to make sure I still hate it.

I liked Giovanti's, Number One Wok and Mary Ann's when I was there for fast food.  I don't know what the eff Fat Sandwich is; wasn't there during my time.  Looks pretty shitty.  Ts and Ps on that mess.  More like crap Sandwich.
