This list can be whatever you want to base it off of. For mine, I'm taking into consideration how good of a game it was, atmosphere, memorability etc..
Hard to cut it to just five, but here's mine:
1. KSU vs. KU '11: Beard goes for 38. Court storm. So awesome.
2. KSU vs. Baylor '11: Art's INT was probably the second loudest moment I've ever heard at BSFS. (<<I'm huge fan of talking about loudest moments.) That game was something else.
3. KSU vs. KU '10: Gameday was awesome. That game was even better. Still think that's the best game I've ever been to. Place was electric, even in section 6 with all the chairbacks was intense. Really sucked that we lost that one, but came away knowing we were a NC contender.
4. KSU vs. aTM '11: Was awesome to send those dorks out of the conference with a loss. Great comeback, I knew they were going to fold late.
5. KSU vs. KU '10: (football) Got kicked out. It was garbage. It was still a lot of fun to watch us destroy them behind the superb leader that was CCQ.
Last season's game against OSU in Stillwater almost makes the cut, and it would have if I had actually felt the earthquake. I've always wanted to experience and earthquake. Also, Duke in the Sprint Center (sorry dlew) was close to making the list, too. The starting lineup thing and the buildup to that game was huge. We would have probably been #1 if we had won that one.
Also, I've had really terrible luck with choosing road games to go to. Never seen us win a big game on the road. Except beating Doc in the last meeting in Lincoln. I guess that serves as some consolation for when I had to sit through Joe Ganz throwing for like 500 yards.
What's your 5?
-
1. Texas A&M @ KSU '11 (football)
2. Baylor @ KSU '11 (football)
3. KU @ KSU '08 (basketball)
4. Texas @ KSU '06 (football)
5. KSU @ Texas '07 (football)

2011 vs Baylor (football)
2011 vs KU (basketball)
2001 Cotton Bowl

I think if there was one game I could have gone to, it would have to be 59-55. I was a sucker for those Wooly teams.
-
Really, cas? No USC game?
Everything on my list is tied for #1.
1. 1998 Nebraska. Hugged Martin before the game was technically even over.
1. 2000 Nebraska. Snow angels.
1. 2003 Big XII championship game. Went with my dad and we got our tickets from some chode in Oklahoma off of ebay (lolwut), so our seats were very deep in the Sooner section. Got to airhump their dumb faces when they walked down the aisle to leave in the third quarter.
1. 2008 KU bball. Beasley and Walker facial all of ku's dumb gross weirdos and we storm the court.
1. bball vs. Gardner-Webb. We hit a last-second shot to take the game to OT and all 4,000 fans go moderately crazy.
-
I feel like we've done this before. Can't blame you though cas, I need football bad.
-
Really, cas? No USC game?
See that's the other thing. At the time, I was really too young to have any sort of grasp of what was going on. If I was about 10 years older, I think my list would look a lot different.
-
Baylor 2011 football Arthur!
A&M 2011 football closure somewhat for me.
2010 UCF the death cloud and ccq scoring the game winner.
@KU 2011 taking over their student section in the third quarter was funny.
A&M 2009 it was the biggest WTF ever also we were leading the north
@ ISU and @Nubb 2011 basketball was really awesome

3) 08 KU basketball -Lifting the weight off was fantastic.
4) '00 Nubb football - Snow game was amazing
5) ?? Missouri basketball - Beating Norm by 50 was fun
Close: USC @ home, KU BBall '10, 95 KU football.

This is a quality list, but I'd probably take Xavier over BYU since I was there. Maybe 98 Nebraska over USC, but either works.

Pretty sure it was the surfactants that burned you. I might know just a little bit about this kind of thing.
-
The close ones and rivalry games are great, but I tend to enjoy the "eff You" wins quite a bit. Snyder has done a good job at some of these and I am thinking Weis maybe next.
-
My top 5 are always the next 5 on the schedule. It ain't no fun if we ain't excited about winning and contending for the CC. (love this guy)
-
I guess I could have thrown the 2003 Fiesta Bowl and 2011 Cotton Bowl into either honorable mention category. Terrible because we lost, but the tailgates and atmosphere of the stadiums was epic.

crap, old balls first, last game was the best I've ever been to.

My fondest memory is still the 1991 KSU-KU game in MHK. It was such a struggle. And then, under duress, Paul Watson tosses (what appeared to be) a duck into the air:
and out of nowhere it landed in Andre Coleman's hands and he took it in for the game winning touchdown.
There were a lot of tense moments as the Cats had to produce a goal line stand to win. I'll never forget that day. That's when I knew things would be different for the K-State Cats.

Football:
03 Dr. Pepper—Camped out to pay $70 for a ticket. Lost my stub on the way in, had to pay another $20 to get one from some OU fans. Did not sit with them.
03 @Nebraska—Jamal Lord and Ell. Bo and Bill. High drama.
97 Fiesta Bowl—bought a Fiesta Bowl champs shirt and wore it to the game. Suck it, ‘Cuse.
97 Colorado—Cold day. Basically clinched Fiesta, lots of flying tortillas, first LHCBS win over Buffs. I think Cephus Scott had a pick. What a great name for a safety.
02 USC Crowd surfed from row two to the top of GA. I was a freshman and didn’t know guys weren’t supposed to.
HM: 06 CTR
Basketball:
08 KU
06 @KU. H5ed Wooly and Lance. Saw Christian Moody accessorizing in Claire’s on Mass St. afterward
04 Texas-top 10 win for Wools, first really good win I saw at OOD

thats how my nose was broken. dad got in the zone, forgot i was blind to the celebrations, he yelled eff YEAH and initiated the DH5 but by that point it was to late, i tried to get the hands up, but he caught me full palm square in my face, and i started gushing blood.
he then told me to man up, and that not even my grandmother was such a bleeder, which is ironic.

I also stuck around for that one, as it was the only game I got to see live that season. My first year away from the little apple, and return visit. After Freemaw orchestrated that amazing comeback, I just knew he was going to win the Heisman at some point. Prince had other plans :(

I remember a lot of students not going because they thought we were going to get our ass kicked anyway and tickets were $60 or $70 I think. I went because I figured we may never get back and I was graduating the next year.
I went to that priceless game, where OU fans stood over the entrances calling out that "K-State is for pussies". BTW, see my earlier post of top 5 games:
1. 2003 Dr. Pepper
2. 2002 K-State vs. KU in Lawrence football game
3. 2010 " "
4. 2011 " "
5. 1982 KU vs. K-State in Manhattan
True story: I rode to the game with neighbors who were OU fans, and asked if their fans had anything similar to the ridiculous corn cob hat worn by Nub fans. They emphatically denied that OU had ridiculous hats like that. We pull into the parking lot a Arrowhead, and the first thing I see is an OU fan wearing one of those ridiculous conestoga wagon hats--asked my neighbors, "Really?". My seats were in a section largely held by OU fans, and they were pretty obnoxious up to the point when Ell hit Brian Casey for that 2nd TD.
Colder than a witches tit, but glad I bought those tickets.

let's not forget the work that Leon Patton did that game you guys. what a game.
-
that was a great game.
I remember that OSU had two at the endzone with like 10 seconds left in the game. Instead of trying to run a play to the sidelines to try and get closer, they threw two hail mary's from like 20 yards away and Watts intercepted the last one.

yep. and his arm was in a cast so it was a hilarious interception.

1) Dr. Pepper. 2nd KSU cats game ever attended in person. Seats right behind obnoxious land grabbers on club level (:gocho:) but with enough KSU doods around to make heckling the crap out of them great. One of the best days of my life.
2) '08 KSU-KU bball
3) '11 KSU-KU bball
4) 06 KSU-UT freemawball
5) 05 KSU-MU (OB's first last game)
Runners Up:
Baylor FB 2011
MU FB 2011
KSU-Xavier epic epic game. Was not there, but watched entire thing in Alehouse and therefore can't remember the last 2 OT's or leaning out the gf's window and screaming the whole ride home. Counts.
KSU-BYU game before epic game. Watching in KC Kite's was great, watching with dejected KU fans even greater.

2000 KSU-NU sure 98 vs NU was great, breaking the losing streak to NU and stuff but 2000 seemed to validate our existence in the upper echelon of college football.I had seats on the east side 50 yardline second row from the top.On the game winning drive everyone around me was holding hands, the snow was falling, the cheerleaders were making snow angels, Willie appeared atop the pressbox then boom TOUCHDOWN WILDCATS.I looked at my friend next to me who was about 18 years my senior (I was 38 at the time)we had both endured a lot of wildcat defeats over the years and as a few tears rolled down his cheeks he smiled and said something like"I never even dared to dream of something like this".I just smiled choking back a few tears of my own and said "I know bud I know"
1998 KSU-NU Broke the streak ,#1 ranking,Bishop overcomes like 5 fumbles,THE FACEMASK AHhahaha and I could find my brother inlaw and me in the SI photo
1999 KSU 66 Misery 000000 The Cats had got whipped pretty hard in Lincoln the weekend before and you could tell they was pissed.Man what a stomping and Larry Smiths wife down on the sideline chewing out MU players for being such quitters.Late in the game we kick off and it`s kinda short the MU returner catches it around the 15 only to get killed by Newman who like never broke stride just plastered the poor tiger player and veered of toward the Cat sideline Cooper came flying up behind him and shoved him in the back sending Newman into a couple of somersaults then they both just kinda beat on each other the rest of the way to the sideline.
1975 KSU-OU Oklahoma was ranked #2 and had an all american running back named Joe Washington.I was 13 at the time and The Cats gave OU a scare holding Joe to like 65 yards in a 3-25 loss.At some point during the game I started a mocking "See Joe Run " chant and had a lot of the people around me doing it ,hell it could of been going around the whole stadium.I think one of my nuts dropped midway thru the 4th quarter

I was screwing around out in the sticks of Spring Hill (white trash USA) during the OSU game building a homecoming float for our sophomore class. So I had to listen to WyattVision on the way home and I remember when Watts sealed the deal, I just honked my horn for like 10 seconds out on the road. Such a good feeling.
Freemaw's first game, our most impressive home win since '03. That day in particular was a great day to be a Cats football fan.

Don't know about the other four, but USC 02 by far. Night game in September against a really good team.

Sproles was just nasty that game.
Newman was just absurd returning a blocked PAT.

Spring Hill (white trash USA)
:dubious:
they knocked me out in state baseball.

Thought Scheme Dr.'s favorite play is the option. Isn't that what CK does 75% of the time.
I was thinking more of the off tackle option and option pass rather than the read option. Sorry was having flashbacks and secretly hoping that CKQB will start averaging 300+ through the air.

1. 2003 Big 12 Championship, nuff said
2. 2008 KU- K-State Breaking the Streak, storming the court, etc.
3. 2000 Nebraska game in the snow, my second football game ever, and it was just amazing
4. 2010 Sweet 16 game vs. Xavier, and the whole town going crazy and celebrating
5. 2011 A&M game, just and epic 4 OT game

The option only works, no matter what type, when the man behind the center is a stud athlete. I think that is why it is very hit and miss at KSU with Synder's love of the option. CK is the perfect option QB.

Football in no particular order:
1989 North Texas State:
Touchdown to win it on the last play of the game. LHFHCBS first victory. Broke the 29 game
non-winning streak. I know it was a 1 AA team but the emotion in that stadium was at a level
that I have not seen since. I had been EMAW since birth but that was when I realized what it meant.
1993 Weiser Lock Copper Bowl:
First ever bowl win. You would have thought we won the NC.
1998 Nub:
Great football game. Ended a 30 game losing streak to them. It was like the weight of the world had
been lifted off the backs of EMAW.
1998 Texas:
Held Heisman thief to 40 something yards. Wonder if he still sees the number 8 when he has bad dreams?
1994 at OU:
Watching the land thieves file out in the middle of the 3rd quarter is a sight forever burned in my memory.
Also, "Fire Gibbs" airplane banner was classic.
Basketball:
1993 OU:
"We'll beat the crap out of them in Norman!"
1994 KU:
Great game but final result sucked. Woodberry hitting the late shot over Henson 2 was a supreme KITN.
BYU NCAA:
One of the greatest nights of my life.
Not many memorable games as I was there through mostly Asbury/Wooly tenure. Know I saw some great games with A Beane and the Cardiac Cats, but was usually pretty pak'd so nothing really stands out.

1. (fb) 2003 Big XII Championship game - 4th row, on OU side, don't remember the 4th quarter. couldn't talk for days
2. (bb) 2008 "The Streak is Dead" game. high fived billy walker before the game. stormed the court. cried.
3. (fb) 2006 Cats stomp Texas, rushed the field. hugged sweaty people.
4. (fb) 2006 Cats beat CU - no rushing the field, but CU/Boulder was amazing and we body surfed Jim Knox and he chugged a beer with us.
5. (bb) 2003-04 BEating #11 Texas at home and rushing the court (see a theme here?) there were like 1000 students at the game, but it was one of the craziest 2nd halfs of bball i remember.
