Title: Falcon Ridge Golf Course has serious rattlesnake problem
Post by: Dugout DickStone on July 16, 2012, 01:46:29 PM
per Spencer Kietzman.

Until it is fixed I'd advise anyone who doesn't want to get bit and go to the hospital to avoid golfing at Falcon Ridge.

Not to be confused to the virtually rattler free elite Basehor course Falcon Lakes where a avid golfer can take in a round or two with no fear of snake retribution.

This seems like an excellent way to keep shitty golfers off the course to provide an elite experience for normal people who aren't terrified of running across a rattlesnake on grass that is less than an inch tall.

I think the pertinent point though, as stated by Spencer Kietzman, is that the golf course has a serious problem with rattlesnakes and to not golf there until it is completely fixed.  There are plenty of places to golf, Spencer is warning you to totally avoid a dangerous one.

my hometwon course got a bit of a prairie dog problem once.  of course, this was after they took care of the rattlesnake problem....coincidence?

well that sucks. i'm going to be in kc in two weeks and my friends and i were all going to play falcon ridge.  i've never played it before and was excited to play it but now i know to stay away.  thanks for the heads up though. i just emailed all my friends in the kansas city area to tell them as well. one of them plays there pretty regularly but he's also deathly afraid of snakes. he already emailed me back that he's going to stop playing there until falcon ridge fixes the problem.

I have alerted several of the big golfers in my office (play 3-4 times a week)  and they agreed it isn't worth the risk to play Falcon Ridge until the rattlesnakes are gone.

what kills me (other than a potentially deadly rattlesnake bite) is that the falcon ridge people know about this and choose to do nothing about it. not exactly a great business plan if you ask me. if one of those snakes kills someone then there's one less paying customer. you really have to wonder who is in charge out there, if the information that spencer kietzman is reporting is accurate. i mean, are they employing groundskeepers or zookeepers out there at falcon ridge golf course???

I don't golf but if I did, I'd prefer it sans rattlesnake.

FTR, I am fine with snakes being on all golf courses.  In fact, sand traps should be replaced by snake pits.

Are you hinting that Spencer Kietzman is possibly a liar? Name ONE time where he lied to us, just one.

It's not like the snakes are just hiding out waiting to bite you. JFC, if you hit your ball out of bounds, just follow the rules of golf and use a new ball. The snakes aren't going to bite you unless you walk right into them, and it's not like they are going to catch you unawares if you are playing within the area that you are actually supposed to be.

The course absolutely should put up signs warning golfers to watch out for rattlesnakes, though.

well i just checked spencer kietzman's twitter account and it looks like his news report about falcon ridge being swarmed with potentially deadly snakes is accurate. guys ,this is nothing to joke about. if you know people that live and kansas city and golf, you better get a hold of them and make sure they know that under no circumstances should they golf at falcon ridge.

Probably a 40% chance that there wasn't even a rattlesnake episode but rather skeetbag made up the story about his buddy getting bit and having to go to hospital as a cover for being late or something.

The reality is he was late because he didn't have his sweet bike to get across town on.

Too bad Falcon Ridge had to pay the price to cover for Jake Pullen's misdeeds.

i once walked up on a deadly copperhead on the fringe of a green at stagg hill.

that said, falcon ridge is a death trap, avoid at all costs.

Guys,

certain son of someone on twitter is supposedly playing golf while undercover shooting pics of the hazards at said course and is tweeting them out:

One in the rough:

One at the green:

One threatening a player:

One running away after Jr ID'ed himself and asked if the snake would like to go on record:

Disturbing stuff, and it's all playing out live on twitter.  Solid field reporting.

Apparently somebody found a rattler behind the green of the hole he lives on, and the spoiled brat son of a bitch thinks the golf course should be taking care of a snake problem on his own property.

Called an old friend of mine who I recalled being a member at Falcon Ridge a/k/a Rattlesnake Hilll.  After a nice chat catching up I told him about Spencer Kietzman's findings and he agreed he should be cancelling his membership.

Spencer is doing a great job protecting the metro golfers.

These snakes are breeding on Spencer's property. I'm not sure what he expects the golf course to do about it.

Yeah, this isn't the first time that family has refused to take responsibility for what it has done.

Sad.

Me and my friends like to call it "Fat-con Ridge" because the place is littered with fat people.  Maybe the candy and slim jims they are droppping around everywhere is attracting rats which attracts snakes?

Its the food tree, people, going full circle.

I for one am extremely thankful this danger was brought to my attention by Spencer Kietzman. I was planning on buying season memberships at Falcon Ridge for my work team members as a bonus "thank you" kind of thing for a big project completion.

But since the place is absolutely infested with rattlers and it's something that the staff has known about and neglected, I'm going to take my business elsewhere.

Can confirm that the "Kietzman Twosum" was playing behind right me at Falcon Ridge on Sunday. I did not see any rattle snakes, however I did see a few rabbits.

I think it is within the realm of possibility that someone saw Spencer and yelled, "Look at that huge ass snakeskin. (He is Skeetbag, ya know?) Spencer heard that and didn't realize that the person yelling was actually referring to him. Spencer ran with the story and turned it into a live rattlesnake, rather than a 5'10" snake skin.

It is pretty obvious the snake has just arrived in that yellow truck, revealing several scenarios 1. He could be simply a shortsighted snake he expected to gain a ride on yellow Cab, not yellow truck therefore his eyes STILL need examination for distance and letter recognition care..he may need bifocals? Already seems to be bipolar..head is on wrong end of body! 2. He could also be a normal Kansan' seeking shade this heat wave has driven everyone into cooler areas, he just wants to fit in with everyone else..You know "when in Rome.. do as the Romans do"..so he could be called a Jim Rome due to his snake-like appearance.or a John Brown ..in memory of a formerly famous fiery Kansan, certainly several variety's can be ruled out due to obvious reasoning.names such as man Gino..Weiss..self no toupee? He is not shooting air rifle or stomping on anyone soon those names are out. No sexual assault going on or drinking wine from boxes so it would reason quarterback point guard are out. This post is beginning to seem like a 'Sheldon-like migration on big bang theory,' so I'll sum it up... get a cat or two cats..I had two cats and one would catch any snake the other would fight over little snake and everything worked itself out by applying the laws of nature.

GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of oppy's for "snake in the grass" and "lying snake" double entendres here.
