that's your brain playing tricks on you.  like, you know how you can sometimes dream that your alarm is going off and then it actually does and you think you knew it was going to so you built it into your dream?  nope.  you brain just remembered it differently.  you didn't dream that.  also, you didn't reach for your alarm until it already went off.

I think they usually went to bed shortly after nightfall (what else would they do?). This gave them enough sleep to naturally wake up when the sunlight hit their eyes. Somebody also told me a story one time about how the Native Americans would drink a lot of water before falling asleep if they had to get up early. Then they would just stay up when they had to get up to pee.

Native Americans used to drink a lot of water to wake up early for battles and stuff.

Nuts Kicked got me.  I'm leaving it still.

I never do this and always snooze 8-12 times. I have tried the water thing, it's pretty hard to get right.

Also sometimes I feel like snoozing is better than sleeping because you can enter a lucid dream state and rampage in the spirit world.

that dude's an alcoholic with an alarm clock.  my guess is that he's probably a blackjack dealer at the Sac-N-Fox casino too.
