Check your notes.  Do you still have Tyrel Reed down as a "garbage" player?

He was 3-4 from the field and 2-2 from 3-pt range.  He's shooting 46% from 3-point range on the season.  More than just a good free throw shooter.

Would he be a better player or a worse player if he played for Nebraska, for example?  Would he have better or worse stats?  :dunno:

I say worse...much worse.  He benefited mightily from the help around him.  In contrast, I think Taylor would be a better player on another team where he was allowed/asked to do more.

But not much more.

Collins remains, however, a garbage human being.

Wouldn't even be the first guy off our bench.  But if you want to think he is great, go for it.

Tyrel Reed would average double figures for a team like K-State.

I disagree about K-State.  He'd split minutes with McGruder, and certainly wouldn't see the floor any more than he did when Morningstar was out.

He's nice little role player, worth a scholarship spot.

You think he's better or worse than Spradling?  Very comparable stats in school, though Spradling is playing against twice the competition than Burlington, KS....and both played against similar local KC AAU talent.  Should be an interesting comparison going forward.

Clemente, Pullen, and Reed would be like Illinois' trio of Williams, Brown, and Head.  All three would average double figures.  Sutton would move to the 4-spot and play a role similar to Mario Little.  As for Spradling, he's going to be a good one.  He's a pure shooter like Reed, but plays competition closer to what Morningstar went up against in high school.  K-State will be stacked next year, especially if Spradling can contribute.

I would take that setup and run.

I really hope the Morningstar comparison works out for Spradling, because that is EXACTLY what we need....Jake can get goofy at the point sometimes (see Zacker's analysis).

I don't think you realize how destroyed that 3 guard lineup would get and how ridiculous that comparison to Illinois' trio is.  reed would be ineffective if he was ever asked to play the minutes that those 3 played (basiclaly 30+).  not only that, but reed does not posess the athletic ability that any of those did and none of those guards posess the physicality of Deron.  just an incredibly stupid post that was meant as a backhanded compliment to ksu.  just say "ku has better players than ksu" instead of making yourself look like a complete and total jackass.

Never said Reed would average 30+ minutes.  Maybe a better comparison would be Miles, Hinrich, and Boschee?

Reed would be okay I guess.  It would be better if we could have recruited Reed's sister.  She's pretty whooorish for a Eureka girl.  Was passed around by several Bball'ers and now has settled on Stuckey  the FB squad Safety.
