Swear to god, if sams leaves the program, I leave the program. Unless bender is really good.

but but but he was such a highly regarded recruit??????!!!!!???? I"m shocked I tell you, shocked.
you probably are the most passive aggressive poster i've ever seen. can't even imagine what you're like in real life.
-
That sucks if he leaves. I recall someone saying he was a bit of a Broyles type guy at WR in practice...or maybe he just imitated Broyles on scout squad...either way it'd be a waste of athletic ability if he left
-
Yikes. That's too bad. Hope he gets his act together.

That sounds made up.

No doubt. SAMs is the most emaw player on the team

I bet SAMs is doing burpies right now

Uh oh. I think Bender will be a good QB in the future. But I want Sams.

shoot, looks like we don't publish on saturdays. #rake4mercury

Bryce, now Sams? What if this is goEMAW's fault? Snyder is forcing out our favorite players every year because of when everyone said we should get rid of him?
-
He's super EMAW though, why wouldn't he be showing up??? :(
-
but...but...but...he CAN'T

My heart refuses to let me believe this.

Looks legit.

SIAP.. News regarding Sams..
I have not been on GPC in a while, and didn't know if it has been mentioned, but I guess Sams has not been showing up to workouts the last few weeks. I guess it is along the lines of not wanting to switch positions. They said he is playing his way out of the program.
Take it fwiw, because this is from players.
Hopefully there is a reason for him not going, but nobody knows

while playing on the scout team in a scrimmage he ran over Chapman for a TD and then threw the ball in his face and told him to take that weak crap back to juco and then they got in a helmets on fist fight. he is super adorable on twitter. his dog is adorable. he's (sams, not the dog) super athletic. could play any position on the field. the total package. like, we may not be very good next year. we lose a lot. but he was someone who I was very excited to see get significant downs. :frown:
-
*sigh*
I wonder if Terry is still waiting on snyds to call him to see if he's going pro.

Sounds like DSams is drinking the Wally/Bryce koolaid. eff don't do this to me.

he was a very hard worker during his redshirt year and kicked people's ass as designated scout team RGIII, Broyles, etc. he only had great things to say about Klein and Snyder on twitter. I think it must be something else if true.
-
I think you guys are all going to look silly when D. Sams is dominating Miami in a couple months.

he could be our best WR, QB, S, etc. if they think Bender could be decent they can move Sams into whatever spot we have a larger need at and he would excel.

great news for the board. snyder running him off butthurt >>>>>>>> snyder hardly ever playing him butthurt.

Yeah, but if he wants to play QB, I say we go ahead and leave him at QB.

Wasn't that the reason he committed? Because he was told he could stay at QB?

Wasn't that the reason he committed? Because he was told he could stay at QB?
Yes. He was the only QB we'd take in the class, and if he joined the squad, we wouldn't recruit another.
FWIW, schools came on hard at him late. I think OU wanted him as a DB, and Miami wanted him as a WR. He stuck with us to play QB.

Thankfully D Scott never stops working.
He just dropped a hard hitting Q&A with Tysyn Hartman like a hammer.
by D. Scott Fritchen
The Fourth of July features plenty of fireworks in Wichita. Tysyn Hartman remains in his hometown eager for Kansas City Chiefs training camp and the opportunity to make some noise...

First Sams, then who???? Baby Locket?
It's like KSU doesn't like me anymore.

I want Sams to be a bad ass at QB for us as much as anyone, but word is that he isn't smart enough. Has the arm and the legs, but not the brains to learn the playbook. I was also told that Bender is looking really good (much better than Sams), and will be the next guy at QB for us. It would be nice if Sams would be willing to switch to another position because it doesn't look like he will be playing QB anyway. Source is someone close to the team...

Your source sounds pretty racist. Is it Tannahill?

Lol... the classic "Not Smart Enough" bit.

Please let this just be a scheme.

This has tmcats written all over it.
Has to be worried that too many white women will get pregnant if Sams becomes the starter, or something.

I was really looking forward to seeing Sams in some Wildcat formations this year. The ones we use for Pease, where he drops back to throw and then runs for like two yards every time.

I was really looking forward to him throwing the long bomb laser passes that Collin can't make and running around the end really fast and jukey like Collin doesn't. they would have been a good combo with their different strengths.

exactly. you run klein up the middle when you need a couple of yards and then run sams when you need more than a couple of yards or if you need a long laser bomb pass or equivalent.
-
maybe none of this is true or maybe it's sort of true but he'll turn it around
let's hope it's one of those.
-
The guy obvs needs someone in his corner right now. You guys on campus need to make sure he gets a hug a day in between classes or something. Let him know emaw is there for him.

Here's the thing, a lot these teams will rush the passer and since Sams is so good at running he could just scramble around and then throw a 70 yard laser bomb off of his back foot to one of our wide receivers for a touchdown.

I'll assume a few of things:
- they aren't practicing (other than maybe their "voluntary" 7 on 7 or QB/WR drills? maybe not even those if Vaughn/Currie had anything to say about them)
- the coaching staff hasn't asked Sams to move to another position, they've just given some type of indication (based on those 7 on 7 drills?) that Bender is the #2...as of now.
- Sams didn't like that and was pissed about this and is doing some pouting.
I assume that the staff hasn't told Sams they want him to switch. I mean, even for Snyds and Co, I can't imagine that they would be that absurdly f*cking stupid to look at what their roster/depth will look like at QB after this year and say "hey, let's take our 1st or 2nd most talented QB we have and move him to WR".
If by some weird miracle, we signed kincaid (which is doubtful, but a kid can dream) and NEXT year at this time we asked Sams to move, then fine. But now? It'd be dumber than wasting a scholarship on a relative who doesn't deserve one.

Agreed on all counts.
Or maybe they're saying, "Well, you won't get on the field much this year at QB, so let's try running some routes to get you on the field, but in the meantime, we'll have Bender take the #2 snaps so you can get more reps at WR," and he's upset about it.

More importantly, forcing a position change on a stud who you recruited by promising they could stay at their chosen position would be recruiting suicide. Even worse than we already recruit.

Hey guys, maybe Sams isn't having fun times during the slow summer months. One thing that my mom taught me about is that at work her and a few other people that are really fun have a small ad-hoc committee called the "cheer squad." Now this was not a bunch of cheerleaders (LOL no!) but instead it was a group of fun-loving people that would work to cheer up people in their time of need. Maybe they had just lost a loved one, perhaps they were having a frustrating time at work or maybe they themselves had just been given a diagnosis of 3rd degree butthurt. Whatever the circumstances, they would come in during a lull in the work day (pretty much any time) and would blast a song that is fun to dance to. They would have some balloons and wigs and hulla hoops and grass skirts (always have at least one guy with a grass skirt/coconut top combo!) and they would party for the 3 and a half minutes or whatever to cheer the person up.
What do you think about this? Maybe Mr. Sams just needs a little cheer squad in his life!

You can give me hell for cutting and pasting my own post from a different thread, but god dammit, I want this to happen so bad:
Brent: Well folks, we are back here in Norman, Oklahoma and the KSU faithful are here in force today and letting these Sooner fans know it. Arthur Brown just destroyed Landry Jones on that last play and the 6,000 strong contingency from Manhattan, KS gave their seal of approval as the Wildcat defense left the field after forcing OU to a quick three and out.
Herbie: Brent, I don't think Coach Stoops was expecting an all out blitz on 3rd and 3. LHC Bill Snyder has his team ready to play today and they are pulling out all of the stops.
Collin Klein is coming in here today off another excellent non-conference performance. He already has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season, but probably even more surprising is his passing. He has completed 76% of his passes for another 6 TD's. The competition is a bit tougher today, so as he leads the Wildcats out for their first series, we'll see if he can keep that prolific production going.
Brent: And here they come from the sidelines, being lead by big #7. Klein will line them up and attempt to methodically move the Wildcats down the......wait....Kirk, Klein has lined up next to the tackle in the TE position....is that.... Arthur Brown behind center????!
Herbie: IT'S NOT BROWN, it is the red shirt freshman Daniel Sams lining up to take the first snap! What kind of scheme is Coach LHC Bill Snyder pulling out of his bag of tricks today?
Brent: Sams now steps back into the shotgun as he audibles while the Sooners are attempting to adjust on defense and the play clock winds down. Here is the snap...he drops back, looking deep for the speedster Lockett who is locked down tight. Sams spins out to his right, he has some room....there he goes! He's to midfield and makes another move. WOW! Another miss at the 30! He is going in! Nobody can catch him now! Holy cow Kirk! This crowd of 80,000 is on their feet in stunned silence except that group of purple letting their Wildcats and Sooner nation know they are here today.
Herbie: Oh man! That was outstanding! Daniel Sams, who only had mop up duty in two games coming into today just took the first offensive snap for KSU 73 yards on a play that you will see again and again this year! LHC Bill Snyder and his Wildcats are alive and well and they just let the Oklahoma Sooners know that they have come into Norman ready to play!
Brent: And Herbie, do you know who had the key block on that play? It was Collin Klein that sprung Sams at their own 40 yard line. The rest was all Daniel Sams as he made four Sooners miss on the way to the end zone. What a play and what a run by the other number 4. The extra point is good and the Wildcats from Manhattan, KS have the early one touchdown lead here in Norman, OK.

What kind of scheme is Coach LHC LHC Bill Snyder pulling out of his bag of tricks today?
LHC LHC Bill Snyder and his Wildcats are alive and well and they just let the Oklahoma Sooners know that they have come into Norman ready to play!

I was really looking forward to him doing a "Call me, maybe" youtube video with Bonus Lockett and D. Marc.
you're embarrassing yourself :dubious:

This whole thing was just a lie perpetuated by Spencer Keitz, no doubt. I knew Sams was way too EMAW to quit the team.

When he was coming out of HS, he had offers from the top schools in the SEC and Big 10.
Some guy on GPC said he wants to play QB, and Iowa wouldn't let him.

Did he end up not going to Iowa?
