I don't think he's on campus yet, which is worrisome.

I think one of two things must be true:
a) he's not as good as the hype, which is why he didn't have that many options
b) he's really good but a huge qualifying risk, which is why he didn't have that many options

Marquez said on twitter that he is going to some garbage school in oklahoma now.

Gates doesn't believe him, only trusts LHCBS

K-State football took the podium at Monday’s Big 12 media days, and among the news that was made is that Tyler Lockett will be ready for the season.  The sophomore wide receiver/kick returner suffered a lacerated kidney against Oklahoma State last season, and missed the final four games.  Wildcat fans became considered the injury might be more serious than thought because Lockett missed the annual Purple/White spring game in April.  But, K-State coach LHC Bill Snyder told the media in Dallas that Lockett recovered from the kidney injury after last season, and participated in the first 14 practices of the spring.  Snyder said Lockett had a hamstring pull, and that’s why he was held out of the game.  The coach said Lockett has been alongside his Wildcat teammates during workouts all summer.

 :surprised: Shocking, stormnut. Thanks!

Fanning meltdown in 3...2....1....: This is rough ridin' bullshit. I'm so sick at being horrible in the recruiting game. Can't we just have something nice and shiny for once? You know, without having to turn some avg 3* into a rock star? I'm usually quiet about recruiting, but this makes me want to punch a baby. It's ok to have nice things, Bill. If you land the commit, rough ridin' get him to the campus.

If any non-December JUCO player with 2x2 eligibility is a better than 50/50 chance to ever get here, I'd be shocked.

We wait on these guys every single year.  Since Snyder's come back, only one of them didn't make it in (Justin Williams, 2010).  That's been a pretty shockingly high success rate with these guys.  Clark would be the second failure in three classes.  Considering he couldn't get half of his classes to qualify there near the end of the first tenure, I can live without Clark.

Here's the latest that I can find on Twitter.  If he says he's not getting in, then he must have failed.

I take back what I said.  He graduated HS in 2010, which means he can redshirt a year and get his grades together, or he can redshirt this fall and take classes.

sd, was the tweet about Central Oklahoma?  His former passing game coordinator at Navarro is going there this year to be Co-OC.  That may be the connection.  But I can't find any tweets about it.

Just shake your head and laugh.

Seriously, you can't expect anything differently having hired the same band of idiots and how little emphasis he places on recruting.  Just enoy the ride, laugh at the clown show, and appreciate the hell out of this brief period of success while it lasts!

yes, central ok.  the tweets are the ones from emawmeister below and others (twitter is blocked at work or I would copy paste them) about going to play with his current QB from navarro who is going there.

It's like they all really enjoy being known as the "inferior talent, better coaching" team.  I wonder if Sharon cuts out all the articles where someone remarks "imagine what he'd do at Texas" and saves them for him.  It'd be great to actually find out what he could do with a high level recruiting class in 2012.

Well the usual suspects are now tossing their tired excuses on the fire over in respect city.

Yes, once again we all demand nothing but 4 and 5 star recruits . . . when in reality we'd just like to see K-State simply get a couple of 4 star guys in each class, with a nice batch of solid 3 star types with legit D1 offers and then they can DITR/Fringe Juco the hell out of the last 6-8 guys.

There's absolutely NO excuse why that can't happen.   The usual respects act like every other school is effing Ibiza during the height of party season . . . when in reality the vast majority of college towns are a lot like Manhattan, and would be nothing but wide spots in the road with MAYBE a blinking red light at the main intersection if there wasn't a university there.   Most of them like Manhattan literally carve "urban sprawl" out of cornfields and pastures.

Then there's the "yeah but Prince was a great recriter (really??) and our highest rated recruiting classes were when we went 4-7 the first time around."    That doesn't mean $hit . . . absolutely NOTHING.

There's only one reason why this occurs and he sits in the big office.

Oh, and they still act like 10 win seasons have been falling from the sky like Manna from the Heavens . . . yeah, there's been ONE in the last EIGHT.

Lamest talking point by them out of all.  We aren't bitching about not competing with Alabama and UF for class rankings.  We just want a few guys who had interest from another credible school.  When was the last time we beat another Big 12 school for a recruit.

and ku doesn't count.

I hear what you're saying and you're right.  We should be recruiting better and that's Bill's fault.

But I'm not really sure how this specific instance (Clark not qualifying) can be blamed on Snyder.  I think I saw some one mention in the recruiting thread that "this is what happens when we go after these 'fringe' players," but aren't most of our best recruits over the years these types of 'fringe' players?  Aren't those exactly the type of guys that make sense for us to go after?
