It looks pretty cool, I can't justify buying that type of horsepower in a laptop though.  And good grief at the 768GB SSD.

usb 3.0

That is an insane resolution, but unless you pay $2200 you are stuck with 1440x900, which is not good.

I would imagine you could still download the google maps app just for street view if you wanted to.

i didn't take it that way.  losing street view is huge and if anything, the headline highlights the loss of street view.

I read the headline as it street view was no longer necessary because apple's 3d thingy was better. The article didn't make anything seem like a loss.

Hi guys.

I was considering the Retina ver. until I read that non-Retina-ready apps/browsers look blurry and stuff on it, and there's nothing you can do except wait until the apps are updated for Retina.

The only feature that’s gone missing – and Apple obviously didn’t talk about this today – is Street View, Google’s street-level imagery. Given the time and effort it would have taken Apple to re-create this service, it’s not much of a surprise that this feature is gone now, but chances are many users will miss it once they update to iOS 6.

I wasn't very clear. I'm still probably going to get the Retina...just may wait until at least Chrome or Firefox update. Has a PhotoShop update been released yet? Haven't checked. I know they keep mentioning it as one of the "first" third-party apps to do so.

Parent company is Vox Media, which also owns SB Nation. I just made that connection a few days ago.

And Saul, that same company is also opening a gaming site called polygon.

CS6 just came out - Would be surprised if it wasn't Retina ready.

My hope is that CS5 gets a Retina update (for free).
