That is funny on so many levels....I think my favorite is the part at the end. Still paying on a loan to fire Barnett.

How can you put a value on being in an academically superior conference?

How can you put a value on being in an academically superior conference?

Good question.  From what I have observed, it's increasingly suspect and likely mythical.

I think it is variable.  I mean, the value is probs a lot lower if you have a competitive sport that brings in money and fans and wins and stuff.  I am sure CU has placed a higher than normal value on it.

Pretty embarrassing really.

You are overlooking the fact that they are now in the same confy as Stanford.  Stan-rough ridin'-ford.  Surely Pete Coors will pony up some additional money to help them out given that he can now associate with Condi Rice.

The "medical marijuana" market is much more competitive on the west coast.

This is either very short term deficits or they're really stupid.

Right now they're in the middle of a $7 million dollar video/audio upgrade to Folsom Field, and they just said they're going to pursue a massive stadium renovation that may start next year.

This next year will mark the first time they will be a full Pac 12 partner, so I would assume they are counting on their additional TV money to offset their current deficit.

I really can't blame Colorado for going off on their own. They were always kind of a Big 12 oddball, even with the Big 8 history.  It always seemed like they were cheating on their wife with the single gal at the office.

But Nebraska and Mizzou are little b*tches and can both suck a knob.
