Heading to St Louis tonight for a concert with some emaws, (roughly college aged). Staying downtown near the scott trade center. We'll be there a few hours early looking for a place to eat/pre-pak.
Anyone have food or post-concert nightlife reccomendos?

Let me know what you think of Mcgurks. Go to the back patio at night where the koi pond is and grab a glenlivet 12 or 18.

Ate at Schlafly's recently. The organic pale ale was oddly spicy and oddly good. I recommend it.
Also, get a slinger the next morning. Very "white midwesterny" and wonderful.

Hopefully your concert is at the Broadway Oyster Bar. Get the alligator shrimp cheesecake.
Hopefully this is the band you're seeing

Spent our time in soulard, had some decent pizza before the show. Went to McGurk's after, was very fun. They had an irish band playing (3 piece, guitar, fiddle, flute) and they were entertaining. We were very disappointed to find that the bars down there close at 1:30. We had used our KC, MO knowledge to expect a 3 am close and were totally unprepared. Good times though. Didn't make it to Schlafly, but had a pitcher of their pale ale at the pizza joint and enjoyed it.

Next time you are in the mood to see some history (AKA run-down shitty buildings) you should definitely check out St. Louis. Or KC's West Bottoms, its probably closer depending on where you live.

Had the same problem last year when I was in St. Louis for a wedding. Luckily, for future reference, Broadway Oyster Bar (http://broadwayoysterbar.com/) stays open until 3.

If you have time, head here. The food is worth it. The beer isn't over-priced, either

B.O.B. is pretty good.
Mike Shannon's is a pretty good steakhouse, and if you're into clubbing check out the Oak Room.

Fast Eddie's is good but Alton is a rough ridin' trek if you're in the city. Ton's of good places much closer.

Also, it's summer time in STL so that means only one thing...Ted Drewe's Frozen chicken nuggets :excited: :excited: :excited:
