oh man, how sad. he must have been just crushed at what currie has done.

Omaha's finest(sorry sd), led KSU to Final 4 as a JR, lost in national semis to Seattle team led by Elgin Baylor.
25.6 pts and 11.3 rebs per game as a SR, team was ranked 1st in the country going into NCAA tourney that year, lost in regional finals to a Cincy team led by Oscar Robertson.
This cat was great. RIP Booz.

All time ksu team. Evans, Ro, Mitch, Beaz & Booz.

To quote Coming To America, "You must be crazy."

Stat wise, only surpassed by Beasley, and a man of character. Stayed out of NBA a year so he could play on Olympic team with Jerry West and Oscar Robertson. T&P's.

Not very familiar with KSU basketball history, are you? A nearly unstoppable running hook shot, All-American two years in a row. Played on what is arguably the greatest Olympic team ever (defeated all their opponents, and did so with a greater margin than the "Dream Team". The man is a legend.
-
A mexican place we go to a lot is right off of Bob Boozer Drive. I'll poor out some top shelf marg for him next time I'm there.

I am assuming it is what finally tipped the scales.

GTFOOMF with that talk. They played with peach baskets.
Athletes of today are 100000 times better than those old losers.

JFC, who gives a crap about players like Beasley and Bill. Today's recruits were barely out of grade school when they left KSU and started sitting on the bench in the NBA.

So, by your reasoning, a '64 T-bird is a piece of junk compared with those new, efficient Kia's out there. I mean, a T-bird had one of those stupid carburetors ("peach basket"). Sorry OK Cat, I often agree with your posts, but you are way off on calling legendary Wildcat Bob Boozer a "loser".

all the old grandpas at goEMAW are getting frustrated because we (the young, hip, good smelling) won't validate some old balls dead guy.
If I had my way, I'd rip down any mention of a basketball player at KSU before Beasley.

And for the love of crap people, at least take 30 minutes and flip through the media guide so you can at least have half a clue when you try to start commenting on this stuff.

You really shouldn't stray too far from making fun of people dying.

I admire Winston Churchill, too, but he was hardly my contemporary. Frank's gone, but he was on to something when he kept mentioning K-State basketball history and tradition. Thanks for doing to yourself what ku tries to pretend is reality--that K-State has no basketball tradition.

fyi - nobody outside of frank and yourself give 2 shits about "tradition" when it all happened before the internet.
-
Apparently, he has his own official jinx named after him.
-
I imagine OK Cat at his families funerals just laughing his ass off. Must be a real site to see.

He probably calls WBC and asks them to come protest.

requiescat in pace, Bob.

:nono: I'm certain there are a fair number of people that share that particular strain of stupidity.
-
I care about our tradition. But I think other teams tradition is irrelevant.

So I looked up this Beasley guy on NBA Basketball Reference. Apparently he's pretty good. Even scored more points in the NBA than an old K-Stater named Lew Hitch, and almost as many as another oldster named Mike Evans.
Can only imagine the great tales told by folks who saw him at KSU at the same time as noted QB Josh Freeman. Must have been an exciting time!!
-
OK Cat, are you on drugs? Bob Boozer is a 'Cat legend!
-
The "who makes the all time KSU team" discussions make me so sleepy.
