i'm in this camp and you shouldn't really fault anyone who is.

if you've been a k-state fan for more than a year you should know the importance of managing expectations to protect future sanity (MEPFS)

Thinking 9-4.....would be a bit disappointed if we went 8-5.

Completely in this camp. I expect the fire LHC Bill Snyder Bandwagon to be off and going after the OSU game.

Who should Currie get to replace Snyder?
Who will he actually get?

I start getting my expectations up in August.  If I started now, I would expect us to win the Super Bowl by the time the season started.

I set my expectations after the first game of the season which was a pleasant surprise last year.

Every other team will be worse and we just replaced two with a Big East and Mountain West school. We Roll.

It would be really hard to have a better record than last year, especially since we play in Norman.

But aside from Norman, who knows?

It could be 3 games better.  That's a lot better.  25% better.

Agreed.  Just saying that adding WVU and TCU while subtracting Mizzou and A&M makes the Big 12 stronger.

life is hard DLew, that's something I've been waiting to tell you until you were done with school.  well, that lesson got it's date moved up a bit because you were ready to hear it.

Understand that I don't need a gps to know I'm in fantasy land when I do it, but I've caught myself daydreaming many times about KSU in the Bowl Championship Series title game.

But don't worry too much DLew, although life is hard, it is also fair. Life is fair, that's what ol' ChiCat always says.

It would be really hard to have a better record than last year, especially since we play in Norman.

But aside from Norman, who knows?
well since we lost to OU last year i don't know how this even makes a difference. it just gives us one more winnable home game.
schedule last year was just as hard as this years imo.
look at last years road trips:
@ Miami
@ UT
@ OSU
@ TTU (one of the hardest places to win in the big 12)

this year we get
@ OU
@ BU
@ ISU
@ WVU
@ TCU

only one that really scares me is at OU and WVU. But we could easily beat both of those teams, and every game at home is in our favor.
We could easily go 10-2 at the VERY LEAST, if not 11-1 or....... 12-0 :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu:

If we are a better team this year we will win equal to or more games.

Personally, I think we'll have precisely the same level of team, but a worse record.  I realize this thread isn't for people who think this way (start a new thread, maybe?) but I just wanted to throw my thoughts out there... kinda let folks know there are other pathways out there.

we were 3-5 last year. A better team will finish with a better record. The "better team worse record" mantra is a cop-out.
