Matt Tait ?@mctait
Phil Steele names 6 #KUfball players in preseason mag: S McDougald, DE Opurum & TE Ragone 3rd team; OL Hawkinson, OL Zlatnik & LB Willis 4th

You realize this is a preseason list, right?  There is no difference in talent between KU and K-State.  If anything, KU has more talent.

It's just a fact.  K-State won the last few years because of Gill vs. Scheme Doctor.  KU's players have more BCS offers and more talent.  Sorry.  Look up the last few recruiting classes and get back to me.

Name one K-State player with an offer list that compares to this one:

Quote
Kansas   COMMITTED (12/23/2008)
Florida
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Purdue
Texas Tech

Or this one:

Quote
Notre Dame   COMMITTED (04/20/2007)
Florida St.
Iowa
Michigan
Nebraska
Oregon
Stanford
USC

Bottom line is that K-State has a bunch of borderline d-1 players who have been developed by Scheme Doctor and nourished through a Big 12 strength and conditioning program.  KU's players didn't have any of those luxuries the past two years.  Add the stars up and the offer lists and it's just not even close.

please reveal to us who these superstars are.  i'm sure with offer lists like that they would be first team all big12 at least (if not AA's).

Arthur Brown is the best player between either program.  After that its probably Malone and then Hawkinson.  Klein is good, but he won't be a qb in the NFL.  He also gets to carry the ball aout 70 more times than any other player in college football.

If Scheme Doctor had KU's roster I think the results would be very similar.  KU's talent was considered better out of high school, but it isn't developed like K-State's.  You guys should embrace that.

Don't disagree with this.  If Weis and staff are any kind of competent KU should win 6 games minimum.  Bet Bill would walk into that roster and break off 7 or 8 in season 1.

Strictly talent.  Beems isn't far off.  Gill and co. were a coaching disaster, but pretty good recruiters.  The talent is there to take a significant step forward from God awful to a least average if the new staff has their crap together.

That's another myth perpetuated by K-State fans.  Hinrich was on the olympic team.  Collison is a solid player for the Thunder.  Chalmers is starting for the Heat.  Gooden just had a big year for the Bucks. Arthur had a big year for Memphis last year before an injury this season.   Rush just had his best NBA season with the Warriors.  Aldrich is developing for OKC.   Markieff had a really good rookie season with the Suns.  Marcus is still setting into his role in Houston.  Henry is getting minutes with the Hornets.  Julian was kind of a bust.  D-Jack has been a role player for a few teams, and Selby is a project with the Grizzlies.  Pierce is the only super star, but collectively, that's a pretty good list of NBA talent.

Edit -  forgot to mention that T-Rob will be a top 5 pick and Tyshawn will probably be an early 2nd rounder.

That doesn't address my argument (and we have the exact same admission standards and you know this). You're talking crap on some dude going to a decent law school when you went to a school that will let mouthbreathers in. KSU lets mouthbreathers in as well. Point is, it's pretty cool if you get into law school and nobody itt has any room to throw stones on academics.

I actually meant it is very losery to get dominated on the field then claim "we had more talent" even though the aggregate score over the past 2 games is like 118-28.

Butthurt ensued.

I know Beems is fabulously successful in his chosen career so I meant nothing personal.

Boston U is the 26th ranked law school in the country.

What have I missed.  Dang

Very lashy lately . . .

Ranked #53 overall... but I guess it's decent for guys who are too dumb/poor to get into Harvard, MIT, or Boston College.

Well, the US News I looked had them at #26.

That's kind of like saying, "Hey man, your the 4th best player on your team behind James, Rose and Bryant."

Oh well.

And Limestone dickwad ruins yet another thread.

 :flush:

You're strange and very hateful.

Sad

Yep... I'm the one who started calling people losers and turning the thread into a sick, sad personal vendetta.  And LOL @ you calling anyone else strange and hateful.

For as good as KU basketball has been over the past decade, that's a pretty awful list of NBA players to show for it.

If Scheme Doctor had KU's roster I think the results would be very similar.  KU's talent was considered better out of high school, but it isn't developed like K-State's.  You guys should embrace that.

True story bro . . . K-State assistants used to brag they could have taken Terry Allen's teams to bowl games.

Sad thing is that Terry Allen probably could have had Darren Sproles if he wasn't so incompetent.

It breaks my heart to even think that he may not have gotten a sniff in the NFL if this had happened.

Beems the fact that you would knock anyone for going to any law school to be a lawyer is embarrassing (I don't care which law school). Limestone is a successful one at that. The fact that your life comes down to someone dying to be rich is shameful. Limestone worked for his, you sucked at the teet for yours.

Name one K-State player with an offer list that compares to this one:

Quote
Kansas   COMMITTED (12/23/2008)
Florida
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Purdue
Texas Tech

Or this one:

Quote
Notre Dame   COMMITTED (04/20/2007)
Florida St.
Iowa
Michigan
Nebraska
Oregon
Stanford
USC

Bottom line is that K-State has a bunch of borderline d-1 players who have been developed by Scheme Doctor and nourished through a Big 12 strength and conditioning program.  KU's players didn't have any of those luxuries the past two years.  Add the stars up and the offer lists and it's just not even close.

Beemz, how about D.Sams bro?

Kansas St.   COMMITTED (03/08/2010)
LSU
Miami (FL)
Oklahoma
Oregon
Tulsa

Sam Harvill

Kansas St.   COMMITTED (04/26/2010)
Arkansas
Auburn
Cincinnati
Oklahoma
SMU
Tulsa
UNLV

Actually quite a few with resume's like that. Not so much in Lawrence.

Both my parents are pharmacists...and they openly joke about KUs med school and how it is anational joke. Dad said they should kill the outreach campus in Wichita before they lose all credibility as an institution.  Apparently the pharmacy school is on good footing though.  Dad blatantly ignores the persistent calls they get by answering and without answering hangs up the receiver.

Didn't most of the posters here go to school for undergrad at K-State (the poorest school in the Big 12, with the worst academics outside of Texas Tech)?

Gotta imagine the guys that are bound for the third string have to be thrilled to read this.  I mean, seriously, if your head coach is openly saying there is no competition for the starting spot are sure to encourage those third teamers to try harder and all that.

You realize this is a preseason list, right?  There is no difference in talent between KU and K-State.  If anything, KU has more talent.
