LHC Bill Snyder never actually said "calm the waters."

"The Kansas State family is in flux right now," Snyder said at a news conference Monday. "I want to be able to help. I want to be able to soothe the waters. I've learned some lessons and there are some things I will do to encompass my family."

MR GORBACHEV, tear down this barrier!
Four score and a few more years ago...
The opportunity for the greatest turnaround in college football exists here today, and it is not-, and it is not one that is going to be easy to accomplish.
Calm the waters.

Calm the waters.
Why settle for 2nd, when there's one spot better.

Quitters rarely win and winners rarely quit.
-
Man. This really changes things.

The reasoning for coming back was simply the feeling that was projected to me was (that the program was in a state of flux). The feeling was since I had been here for an extended period of time (before) that I might be able to calm the waters a little bit. That was important to me because I have a tremendous sense of loyalty to Kansas State University and its people.

Look, just effing drop it already! That crap can go to the shitty journalism thread. This thread is about all of us being mislead to believe LHCBS said he was going to "calm the waters." It has already been proven that he did not say it! Quoting some worthless journalist who's spell checker was broke and he couldn't properly spell "soothe" so he changed it to "calm" doesn't change what LHCBS actually said.
-
WHY DOESN'T "SOOTHE THE WATERS" GET AS MUCH PRESS AROUND HERE?!
:embarrassed:

soothing the waters just seems like an awkward phrase.
-
Soothing the waters seems like you are trying to make the water feel better about itself.
-

by giving it a massage or applying icy hot.

:horrorsurprise:
Getting too close to a water wall or other decorative water fountain in a hospital can turn you into a patient, especially if you have underlying health problems, a new study warns. Researchers focused on a hospital in Wisconsin, where a water wall in the lobby was linked to an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease. Eight people—including a deliveryman and a man waiting to pick up his wife—were infected after inhaling bacteria-laden water droplets, researchers found. Quickly converting the water wall into a planter solved the problem.
Such water features are popular in health care settings because of their soothing nature, but it is hard to keep them free from bacteria even with regular cleaning, the president of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America tells the Washington Post. "I guess the takeaway here is that if you have any underlying conditions, you should avoid walking by them or stay as far away as possible," she says, and hospitals "should avoid having these in their facilities altogether."
So what message was Snyder really trying to send...
-
The Kstate Cat Football team was going to be the soothing cause of Legionnaire's disease to all who got too close to it. Dr. Scheme bringing it disease style.
