Title: x files thread
Post by: Kat Kid on May 06, 2012, 10:36:12 AM
I started watching X-files on hulu +.  I am finished with the first season.  It was not that good.  I'm starting to wonder if it gets better or it was just good because I was younger.

Going to watch episode 1 of season 2 and start really evaluating things here.

Don't embark on that journey, Duchnovy slaughtered it mercilessly at the peak of the shows glory to selfishly pursue his silver screen fantasy.

It doesn't get better.  Thirty something me may see it differently than teenage and twenty something me did.  I certainly view Gillian Anderson differently now, and not for the better.

On episode two of season two.  No one is stopping me!  only about 250 or so episodes to go.

The only good writer on that show went on to create Breaking Bad. That may have been the only good thing to come from the X-Files.

kk, hang in there.  i marathoned it about two years ago after casually watching some of them as a kid.  iirc, seasons 3-6 were pretty awesome if you get into the long-term story arc as opposed to the monster of the week stuff.

did not enter into the process with it being one of my favorite shows, but definitely left that way.. just talking about this makes me want to go round 2!

This was what I was in to as a kid.  Haven't quite got there yet, but I wanted in on the ground floor so I'm putting in the hard time.  (well I did skip most of season 1).

Only watched the alien conspiracy shoes, rest were boring.

Show jumped the shark, moved on.

You should watch Supernatural. It has some similarities to X Files but its way better.

The one with the cannibals was pretty great.

The one with the cannibals was pretty great.

You talking about the inbred hillbilly cannibals?  I think that one was directed by a guest director or sumthing.  That one stuck in my brain for quite awhile.  The closing scene was the best.
