He's great.  Josh Freeman is the best though.  Followed by Bishop.

That was like watching a highlight film of Bryce Brown at Wichita East.

Except instead of the other team being Derby or Hutch or Heights or North, it was the Packers or Titans or Giants or Bucs.

Sproles wins.

ya it's weird. No matter how many stat comparos I see, or well-reasoned arguments I hear, there's just no way I can put any q@ QB over Bishop. I think it's just because I was younger than Bishop when he was playing and therefore he is some sort of wise old superhero to me or something.

:dunno:

I mean yeah Freeman was incredible and has started for a pro team and everything for a bunch of years and whatever, but...

BISH!

You beat me to it.  That dude was a freaking beast that year.  Although Terry Pierce, Mark Simeneau (sp?), and Kevin Lockett all come to mind as well.  Best QB was Bishop, but he had a better team around him than Freeman did so it's harder to compare.

Sproles is the most beloved we've ever had.  And for good reason.

Maybe not the best, but certainly my favorite.

Winner. Freeman isn't even even in the Top 3 greats at his position, let alone overall.

I'd choose May, Bishop, Beasly, and Roberson all before picking Freeman. Other than leaving early and being a high draft pick, his time at K-State was unremarkable.

Freems played for a terrible coach. People just don't know how good of a college player he could have been with a team like 98, 02, or even last year. I'd say he is our most talented quarterback, but far from the most productive from a winning standpoint.

couldn't disagree with the last part more.  he made no one around him better.  he, singularly, lost games.  Good players make plays to win games.  Jordy, Yamon, others made him look better than he was.

Doesn't he make up for that by letting his other kid marry Collin Klein?  Surely they will send their future stud athlete kids to KSU, right?

Freeman doesn't even crack my top 10, maybe even 15 if I listed it out.

Daniel Thomas, Ell Roberson, Michael Bishop, Qunicy Morgan, Josh Buhl, Darren Sproles, Jordy Nelson, Newman, Josh Scobey, Rock Cartwright, Darren Howard.

Hell I'd throw Dyshod Carter and Butler, and Jonny B out there before I'd pick Freeman. Hell give me Joe Hall before I ask for Freeman.

Oh and definitely Collin Klein before Freeman.

Sproles is #1 on my list, but I love all EMAW players. When I play Madden I usually put all EMAWers on the same team. Freeman with Sproles & DT in the backfield & Jordy at WR.

Freeman was so terribly mismanaged.  His RBs were barely JUCO quality.  Play calling was horrid.  I remember time after time the other team would score and we go 3 and out on 3 straight pass plays in under a minute and punt it right back.  Ridiculous

I love so many of them for so many reasons.  Bishop had the cannon and the swagger.  Sproles was electric.  Newman was the best athlete ever.  Freems had the size and arm.  Jordy was so small towny that it made it more enjoyable to watch him clown Texas.

I loved them all!

True story: A young Sundance Kid broke his hand by punching a floor during the first half of that game. He got it checked out 24 hours later to confirm the break.  :gocho:

Eh, in '08, I agree.  Lamark and Logan Dold were not Big 12 running backs.

Leon Patton and James Johnson were legitimately good though.

Yea, maybe I'm not giving them enough credit.  But I do think their stats were helped by defenses thinking that even if they do run it well, they won't stick with it so just focus on the pass.
