Title: What has Dax observed on other sports message boards today:
Post by: sonofdaxjones on April 17, 2012, 11:55:39 AM
Pretty fascinated with a thread on Phog regard the KC Star (this is a regular topic on Phog).   The general theme is that the Star should heavily load their sports page with ku material, particularly in light of the realities of the Chiefs and Royals and with mu going to the SEC, and K-State just not being important enough.

The only thing I have to say is:  Print media .  . . we're talking about Print media?

Several days ago there was another thread on the Phog where the general level of butthurt and low self esteem was pretty amazing.

It seems that in WV's new basketball practice facility, they have some of the usual graphic artwork you find in such facilities these days, and on one they have something along the lines of "Toughest Place to Play in the Big 12".

The thread in general really exposed the tuckish nature of phog, and was frankly quite humorous.

What steve dave has observed today:  currently eating a chipotle barbacoa burrito, brown rice, cheese, hot, pinto and it's pretty good.  seems like the barbacoa has had more seasoning the last couple times I've had it.  this morning the yard people came and fixed my sprinkler system.  won't need it for awhile because we've had a lot of rain but it's nice to know it's there when I want to fire it up.  haven't done one single thing at work today.  nothing.  all my emails were passed on to someone else to deal with.  phone hasn't rung.  nothing.  really weird.  maybe everyone's at a party that I wasn't invited to?  maybe there's cake in the cafeteria?  no idea here.  just content to wait it out though.  whatever everyone else is doing they can just keep doing it as long as they get their crap done and don't bother me.  starting to think about what I'm going to do at the gym today.  feels like a spinning day.  also this burrito that's going to be sitting on me won't like a lot of jarring motion so spinning will be good for that.  going to make mahi mahi tonight.  have it frozen right now and I'm a bit concerned about how good it's going to be.  may also have to make it indoors and not on the grill because it's windy as crap and I hate grilling when it's windy.  that's another thing to be concerned about.  anyone have any suggestions for indoor cooking strategy for some frozen mahi mahi?

Nothing makes me smile like heading over to HuskerMax and letting them explain why it was good thing the Cornhole Spring Game was cancelled completely.

That Bo Pelini, always looking out of the players.

But for those that paid, they got free food, until it ran out and got into the corn softball and baseball games for free.

On the Mahi-Mahi I suggest blackened SD.

SD, could you give us any front row insight as to the plight of the Cornhole Spring Game?

I read that and came away thinking they were even more insecure than I previously thought. Even with all their bball success, if there's even a hint of disrespect (in that case it was a non public remark not even aimed at them), they go into full validation mode.

No one is allowed to say anything good about themselves or engage in any self promotion, only ku is allowed to that.

that's a dicey proposition there, SD.  trying to thaw frozen fish too fast is dangerous.  you really risk it falling apart and losing a bunch of juices.  I also despise grilling in the wind (or really doing anything in the wind.  I would rather it be 120 degrees with 90% humidity or 30 below it's the worst weather feature ever and I can't rough ridin' stand it.  what I'm trying to say is that I don't like wind.)  if you do decide to take the gamble on the frozen fish I would definitely blacken it as sodj recommended and then make a quick jalapeno mango salsa...add cilantro to your liking (I like a little, but not a lot).  good luck.

How should you feel about this, some guys at ShaggyBevo like it, what if there was a similar "song" for K-State, I don't know.

They screwed their fanbase, but the fans took it with a smile.  What a bunch of tools.

ALWAYS thaw ANY whole meat in the refrigerator.  just leave it in it's packaging and set it on a plate or in a bowl.  depending on thickness they'll probably be ready tomorrow evening.

Our fans are no better. By today most would be rationalizing how the extra "donation" will help get our CurrieMadeā„¢ facilities financed more quickly and how the baseball team can really use our support and be a nice trip, and telling those still complaining to stop being butthurt.
