you know the new coach that just got to illinois was like "oh no way in hell am i honoring this thing".
-
Show him the ernie barnett statue and he will be ours. Maybe regale him with tales of cotton fitzpatrick
-
Him and Spradling in the backcourt the next couple of years :barf:

Weber is going to be a god on the fitz site, if he takes the names off the jersey's, hikes up the inseams and does away with anything not purple or white he gets a statue next to Ern
So far boner fitz points:
1. No Profanity
2. Recruiting scrappy white kids
3. Gap tooth Mad Magazine look

Queue the music "It's only just begun..."
I've seen some recent comments warming up to Weber....Are more and more KSU fans getting on board with Weber?
Orris is the next coming of Trent Meacham http://www.fightingillini.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/meacham_trent00.html
He is a little too short to be the next coming of Bill Cole http://www.fightingillini.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/cole_bill00.html

oscar Weber / KSU Match
I had a wait and see attitude re: Coach Weber. Glad I didn't "jump off the bridge" with the coaching change. The more I find out about Coach Weber he seems to be a KSU type of coach. I like the less "crazy" approach to dealing with the players and a Coach with a professional demeanor. Hope I'm as happy next season.

I'm choosing to believe he's the next Aaron Craft.

Only difference is Craft was developed by Matta and Co. and Orris will be developed by Weber and Co. That's one big GD difference.
2012 is the weakest class coming out of the state of Illinois since the Middle Ages. I don't think Orris is even in the top 10 of that list.

You say that, but in the picture Orris appears to be blowing right by Carl Lewis. Good luck spinning that one, hater.
-
Orris is almost certainly one of the top 50 prospects in the state of Illinois. Didn't make first team all-state by the News-Gazette (15 players), didn't make second team (another 15 players), but was on the 25 man Special Mention list.
-
he looks slower than crap, strong though, finishes well in traffic, slow release, doesn't look like he's got a great shot anyways, handles are pretty loose, vision seems average.
it's hard to tell much of anything from guard highlights, since their games are so much about skill, but he doesn't look like a big 12 player.

Yeah. :frown:

It's great that weber won't let critics change him. He still is going to build around set shooters who can do little else. Isn't he out looking for a "face up" power forward?
When you are satisfied with your results (he made the ncaas half the time since his players got to Champaign) why change?
-
From today's Chicago Sun Times:
http://yourseason.suntimes.com/home/11903908-390/boys-basketball-crete-monees-michael-orris-visits-kansas-state.html
I assume oscar is hoping Orris will be for KSU what Chester Frazier was for Illinois.
Frazier is the PG oscar recruited to follow Deron Williams.

wtf is an illini and what league are you guys even in?
-
guys,
this guy average 11pts/game as a senior. get ready for some exciting ksu basketball.
-
you guys are trying too hard
-
wtf is an illini and what league are you guys even in?
As a long time Illini fan, it hurts to admit that your question is valid. After nine years of oscar Weber, Illinois basketball is irrelevant.
Now please give oscar a chance to take KSU to the same place.
It will be a mashup of deja vu and schadenfreude...

-
Dudez, as much as this guy blows...which he assuredly does...it is way better than the "Frank Martin Spring Junior College Jamboree." So, drink up :drink:, and realize that this kid will be here long enough to develop to the point where he doesn't totally suck. BTW we need an ice cream cone emoticon.

You have a sick obsession with oscar Weber.

Illinois fans get on my nerves. Taking oscar Weber out of the equation, I have yet to find many fan bases with such a delusional pedestal for their program.
They had a few really nice years with Self (and Weber). Other than that, historically, we're pretty much on par with them, and in a lot of ways, better.
Anyway, that's all.

A second article about Orris, more about his father than him:

Do you really have to argue that Illinois is better than KSU on a KSU board? They are nice enough allowing us to come on here to warn them of Weber. I would think it would be respectful to just leave it at though.
Let's get back to pointing about Weber's faults, how he refuses to acknowledge them, and how it looks like he is going to repeat them.
-
KSU has a proud tradition of basketball. That is why you should be horrified that Weber will build around Michael Orris. He will start for you even if there is a better player on the bench. The only reason we beat OSU as Weber loves boasting about is because our Orris this year got hurt. Weber is literally turning KState into a midmajor with his every move. In a year or two as bad as this sounds you will be rooting for Orris to get injured so you have a chance of making the tourney. I'm so sorry that is true.
Good luck to you guys enjoy the football season.
-
Of all the things about Weber that are scary (horrid recruiting, failure to take responsibility for his team, his clothes) the reports that he will start older but inferior players regardless has me pretty scared.

players dont need to be good...they just need to execute

I didn't read any of them after I saw you linked to the Bleacher Report. That's like quoting Readers Digest in your thesis.
Regardless, don't we have more NCAA tournament appearances? Even after taking 20 years off?

I wonder if oscar peruses at Reader's Digest when watching the Weather Channel?
Have to admit, a behind the scenes with the Weber would be a good watch
Any ideas on what his daily schedule would be?

You don't see us on Pepperdine or Oklahoma or Oregon boards. Illinois is garbage. I want to kick their ass right now.
Dear Illini,
The 2 day grace period you were given to expound on what a shitty hire our AD made is over. We got the message. Now get the eff out.

Ill never leave you goEMAW... ill be here through the storm.

Yeah, I saw that one was the bleacher report and didn't really want to use that link lol, but I did anyways. Even terrible reporting can be favorable at times haha. As for the NCAA tournament appearances, no sir. Illinois 29, KSU 26 oscar was nice enough to help us miss 3 of the last 5 yrs.....
